"Laurennnn!" My mother's voice echoed through the house. But little did she know I was already up. It's Friday and not only is it Friday, but my older sister Braylen is coming home today! She's the middle child, 19, and also my absolute favorite sister.
"I'm already up mom!" I yelled back to her. I was just finishing my hair and makeup when Lucas came in my room.
"Have you seen my keys?" He asked barely looking at me.
"Nope, did you ask mom?" I asked rather chipper. Since the trip to the lake he hasn't been talking to me much so I was rather excited to be having a conversation with him.
"No, but that's my next stop" he said as he started to walk out the door.
"Hey Luc..." I called after him. He turned around hesitantly, and spoke.
"Yeah?"
"I miss my big brother" I said sadly. He just gave me a closed mouth smile and then he left.

"That's all for today class. Oh wait one more thing. Over the weekend you and your partner should perform exercises 1 through 5. Remember in order for it to work you must record and bring in what you have. Other than that have a good weekend!"
Dinggggg. Dinggggggg.
Finally class is over.
"Hey hey bestie! What's up?" Katie approached me at the lunch table and sat down next to me.
"You gonna eat those onion rings?"
"Yes I am actually, what's wrong hun?"
"Nothing Ms. Fame introduced this new project to the class and it requires a lot of work and I just thought I would be able to spend the weekend with my sister but now I have to make time for work, and I miss Lucas and my dad is coming in town and my mom is stressed and she's making me stressed and..."
"Whoa girl slow down!" She grabbed my shoulders and made breathing motions inquiring me to follow her. So I did. "Feel better now?"
"Yeah. I really needed to breathe." I loved Katie for her ability to make me calm down when I was hyperventilating.
"Luc still not talking to you yet?" She asked concerned.
"Well he asked if I knew where his keys were..." I said laughing to myself.
"Well maybe this family weekend will mend you guys relationship."
"Maybe, I hope so."
"Hey Lau, when do you want to meet up to work on the project?" Josh asked while starting to eat his food. Yep that's right. Josh is my partner for the project.
"Honestly, after school would be best so that way I don't have to interrupt my sister bonding time to do it."
"Cool with me. My place or yours? Or a café or something?"
"Your place is fine." It wasn't until after I said that I realized that Chelsea was eye balling me. She probably doesn't feel comfortable with us working together alone in his house. Maybe I should suggest the café instead. Yeah that's what I'll do! But before I could even get the words out...
"Alrighty. My place it is. Meet me in the parking lot after school, my mom will give us a ride."
"Cool." Well at least his mom would be there right? That way nothing will happen and now Chelsea can chill out because his mom will be there. Yeah that's good. Speaking of mom's I should probably let mine know.
Me: Hey mom going to a friends after school to work on a project...should be home before Braylen gets there!
Bzzzzzzz.
