"Bye, Lauren. See ya in school on Monday."

"Bye Josh."

That was it. That was how our "project date" ended; with a simple goodbye. Maybe the flirting was just nothing and I misread the whole situation. Maybe just maybe he was being friendly and I mistook that for flirting. But no that's couldn't be. I mean even his sister called it flirting and so did his mom. But I cannot and will not jump to conclusions. I will just assume we are friends.

So I lied. My sister isn't here yet, but I really didn't need Katie to remind me that Josh and I are and forever will be friends. It was just too much and I can't handle her badgering right now.

Josh is texting me? On his freetime? He's never texted me before besides asking what the homework was or for help on The homework, this was new.

Me: hey, what's wrong? Forgot the hw?

Josh: nope...just wanted to talk lol

This time I was for real. I heard a car pulling up in the drive way. I ran downstairs hoping it was my mom with my sister and not just my dad coming home from work. Once I got down stairs I looked out the front window and it was my mom. She was opening the driver side door and Lucas and Braylen emerged from the back, and then the passenger door opened as well. I didn't know who on earth it could be. It wasn't my dad because he had his own car. I know it wasn't my oldest brother Dylan because he lived all the way in California with his wife April and I knew it wasn't my second oldest brother because he was studying abroad in Australia. So that only left one possible sibling. Melanie.

"Lauren!!!" My sister Braylen screamed as she walked through the door.

"Oh my gosh Braylen!" I screamed back running to hug her.

You see Braylen and I had that real sister bonding relationship. She was 17 and got a full scholarship to an elite boarding school in New York, so this was the first time in a long time that I haven't been around her all day every day 24/7. Even though it's only been 3 weeks since she'd left I really missed her and I wasn't used to having her gone. It's been hard on Luc as well because after all she's his twin sister so he'd been around her way longer than I have.

"How is my favorite little sister?!" She exclaimed hugging me tightly and kissing my cheeks.

"I'm so lost without you Bray!" I said pouting.

"I know same here." She said pouting back.

"How's boarding school?" I said curiously.

"Not all its cracked up to be." She said making a weird face.
