The next morning, I woke up alone. No one was in the base.

"Hello?!" I called out.

There was no answer. I stood up and began to walk around. I couldn't find anyone. I began to get scared.

Suddenly, I noticed a note written on the desk. It said:

Come to the abandoned warehouse if you want to see your friends alive again.

I immediately dropped the note and ran to Second's gun safe. I grabbed a pistol and a knife. I had to hurry before harm came to any of them.

I ran outside and hopped into Second's car. Good thing she had given me an extra set of keys.

I drove down to the abandoned warehouse. I walked inside, with my gun raised.

"I'm here! Just like you said!" I yelled.

There was an unsettling chuckle that came from deep in the darkness.

"Drop your weapons." The voice demanded.

I did so.

"And your [Diary]." He added.

I did so as well.

"Good." The voice continued.

He stepped out of the darkness. It was a [Diary] holder I didn't recognize. He wore a black trench coat and sunglasses. He obviously was different than in my world's game. There were a few differences then.

"Release my friends." I said.

"Tough talk from a weak boy, Twelfth." He replied.

He aimed a gun at me and flipped on a light. Sitting tied up and unconscious were Mina, Tohka, and Mikata.

"Pick two of your friends to live. The third will die." He stated.

"No way I'll choose between them!" I screamed.

He pulled the trigger and hit me in the shoulder.

"You'll do as I say!" He yelled.

I held my shoulder in pain. Blood dripped down my arm and covered my hand.

"Now, choose two." He said once again.

"I choose-" I started, but was cut off by gunfire.

Three bullets hit him. One in the stomach, one in the arm, and one through the head. He fell down. He was dead.

I turned slowly to see had fired the bullets. It was the girl from the gas station the day before. It was Third, it had to be.

"Third." I said.

"Twelfth." She replied.

"Why are you helping us?" I asked.

She walked up to me.

"Who said I'm helping you?" She asked.

She held her gun to my head.
