I woke up suddenly in my room. The room I had when I lived with Tohka. It was just like it was. All down to the smallest detail.
I looked down at my [Diary]. It was a memory of my dark past.
"I hate you." I said to the small phone.
Suddenly, Tohka walked into the room.
"Big Brother, are we leaving or what?" She asked.
I looked at her. Tears began to fill my eyes.
"T-Tohka?!" I said as I ranup and hugged her.
"Brother, what's wrong?" She asked sweetly.
"I missed you so much." I said as I held her in my arms.
"Uh, what are you talking about?" She asked.
That's when I remembered that this wasn't the same Tohka. I quickly let go of her. I realized that she may still be Fourth in the game, which meant she saw me as a target.
I decided that I needed to know if she was in this world's game too.
"Tohka, are you Fourth?" I asked.
She looked shocked.
"H-how did you know?" She replied.
Ok, my suspicions had been correct. This world was exactly the same, just a different time.
"I'm the Twelfth." I answered. "But not this world's Twelfth. I'm from an alternate world where Second and I won the game. But we were sent here by accident. Now I have to play the game all over again."
"What about the other Twelfth?" She asked.
"Apparently he has already died, along with Second. I'm filling his place." I stated.
Tohka had a confused look on her face.
"So, you're not really my brother?"
"No, I still am. In fact, I'm super happy to see you again." I replied.
She chuckled.
"Well, then why don't we team up and win this?"
I was happy with the thought of winning this with her, but I couldn't betray Second. Not after spending thousands of years with her. I was left, once again, with that difficult choice. But if I could find a way home, maybe, just maybe I could bend some laws and bring Tohka with us. And if I could find Mina as well, then it would just be perfect. I could have them all alive and well, once again. Although, Yuki and Yuno would not be too happy about it. In fact, they would probably try their hardest to stop me from doing this.
"Tohka, we're going to do something a little different this time." I stated.
"What are we going to do?" She asked.
"We're going to find First and Second. Then we're going to find a way out of this world, and return to my world." I answered.
"What about Mom and Dad?" Tohka asked.
"I hate to say this, but they are also [Diary] holders."
Tohka looked upset.
"I guess we're gonna go without them." She said.
I nodded.
"Let's go now. Pack your bags."
She walked out and got her stuff together. I did as well. Afterwards, Tohka and I left the house, without my parents noticing. It was around midnight when we did so.
We walked, trying to find a place. We ended up at a hotel where we could hideout for the night.
I rented our room, and we went to our room. Tohka seemed more innocent and fragile than when she did in the last game.
She set her stuff on the bed. I did so too.
I sat on the bed and stretched out. Tohka looked at me.
"C-can you turn around?" She asked.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because I need to change." Tohka said shyly.
"Oh, of course!" I said quickly as I turned around.
I looked away from Tohka. I remembered that she wasn't my sister. I still loved her the way I did in the last game. But how could I explain that to her now?
"Ok, you can turn around." She said.
I turned around. Tohka wore a cute tank top and sweat pants.
"You look cute." I said, immediately regretting it.
She smiled a little.
"Thanks, but don't get weird on me."
"No, I didn't mean it like that!" I said, my face turning beat red.
She giggled a little.
"You're crazy, brother."
I walked up to her.
"Tohka, I have to tell you something."
She nodded.
"I'm not your brother. Yuno and Yuki created me for my world's game." I explained. "And this may be weird to you, but I fell in love with you in my world."
She gave me a sad look. It was like a bullet was shot through her heart.
"But, that's...no, it's not possible." She said. "You're my big brother! You helped me with my homework, we played together, you comforted me when I was scared!"
"To be honest, I'm not sure how this world is. For all I know, I really was your brother, but remember, I'm not him. I belong in another world. In my world, I wasn't your brother. And that can't change how I feel." I explained.
"It's a lot to take in." She stated.
"I know, and I understand if it makes you feel awkward." I replied.
She smiled.
"No, it's fine."
I sat down on the edge of my bed.
"You know that this survival game is going to get dirty. You may end up with some blood on your hands." I stated.
She nodded.
"I understand."
I leaned back on the bed and closed my eyes. I began to fall asleep.
