I did NOT read this through because I wanted to get it up before I got off for the day. I figured you'd probably be okay to make your way through my millions of mistakes instead of waiting another day. I promise to try to write a chapter or two before I go on my vacation. I said I will TRY to!!!
Thanks to all of my awesome fans and to those who comment on every chapter! You mean the world to me! And I'll miss you all a ton while I'm gone. (Actually to be honest...I might only miss you a little...sorry)

“What a jerk!” Emma said again for about the fiftieth time. “Did you see that?” He totally looked at you. I saw the recognition written all over his face.”
Kayla examined her sister who was sitting across from her. They were again at the Tofu n’ Rice indulging in something that didn’t contain meat or any other animal product. It was actually good.
“I feel like I want to march up to his house and yell at him. He saw you sitting in the car! I saw him see you.” Emma continued to practically yell over the large amount of people who seemed to enjoy the place.
Kayla decided to remain quiet. She didn’t want to get in this conversation with her sister, not here in the café, not at home, not ever. Kayla had known since she had met Scott that the two would never fit. He was rich, she was poor, he was good looking and confident, she was modest and a little timid. Two people like that just never got together.
“I’m done. Are you?” Emma asked while at the same time pulling Kayla out her miserable daydream. The two left the café and headed back to Emma’s place.

Scott paced in front of Emma’s apartment. He had climbed the flights of stairs, knocked on the door, and waited for several minutes before deciding that Kayla was out or hiding in the apartment. The longer he stayed in front of the apartment the worse he felt.
What if Tori knew he was standing here? What if his parents knew he was trying to talk to someone below his class? What if it wasn’t really Kayla in the car in font of his house? Scott decided to drop the ‘what if’ questions and focus on what to say when he finally saw Kayla again.
Would he demand to know why she was parked in front of his house? Would he give her a big hug? Would the opportunity come up to ask her on a date? Should he even ask her on a date considering he was dating Tori and his mom practically had their whole wedding planned out?
“Scott?” He heard his name and flipped around to see Kayla standing baffled on the sidewalk. “What…” She began to say but instead stared at him quizzically. Her sister standing next to her was staring at him with her mouth hanging open.
“Hi.” Scott said simply. His mind suddenly went blank as he stared at Kayla. Her long black hair gently blew around her face and her eyes seemed to be glowing. She was stunning. He’d forgotten just how beautiful she really was…inside and out. He took a shattered breath and tired to smile.
“What are you doing here?” Kayla asked as her sister nudged her in the ribs.
“I heard you were in town.” Scott said playfully as he felt himself staring at her like a kid stared at a candy store.
Kayla shook her head and just stared at Scott as if he might disappear. “What are you doing here?” She whispered as if she still couldn’t believe that he was standing in front of her.
