Sunday:
Kelsey woke up with a headache. She opened her eyes, stared at the white ceiling and reached for her phone. Looking to her right, she grabbed her phone and squinted at the bright screen to check the time and date.
"I miss my phone... " Kelsey let out a sigh from the breath of her lungs.
She ran to the bathroom, washed her face, and put her contacts on both of her eyes. She flossed, brushed her teeth, and stepped out holding her phone.*Bing!*
Kelsey checked on her phone that had a bold notification on the screen.
(Message:) 'APARTMENT IS AVAILABLE NOW. ONE SPACE LEFT!!! CHECK IN TODAY OR IT'S GONE!!! Call now to find the ADDRESS.'
She had to call! But where was the number? Did they make a mistake and not put the number or did they want Kelsey to search their site instead? Kelsey logged in on her Mac, and opened a Safari window in her phone. She typed in, "|🔍cozyrosyhomes.com|" since they included the site in the email. Kelsey found the number on her Mac, but she couldn't call from her laptop, so she used her iPhone, and dialed the number. A woman picked up.
"Hello. This is the Cozy Rosy Homes! What do you need today?"
"Oh.... I received a message, on my phone, from you guys saying that there was only one apartment left. Can I still come to your office today?"
"Yes,*papers shuffling*, hold on a sec-" She was using another phone from the office. "Uh-huh. Your name is Kelsey right? There is only one Cosy Rosy Home available. Is that okay? Will you still come?"
"Um.. I think I'll be there before the sun settles. Maybe tomorrow after school.."
"Great! I'm getting another call right now. Can you hold for a few minutes? Thanks!"
Kelsey needed Lily to drive her to the apartment building. Music played through the phone on hold. About 5 minutes later, the woman returned the call and they began to have a conversation again.
The woman started, " Yes!! So sorry! Do you still want me to check that apartment right now and refresh the media?"
"Yes please," Kelsey replied.
"Oh... I think this is a mix up, but are you going to come to this apartment with any partner?"
"Um... I don't understand what you're saying Ma'am."
"Are you in a relationship? Are you coming here with someone?" The woman's voice sounded almost too serious all of a sudden.
"No. Not at all." Kelsey was feeling nervous now, and her stomach felt eager to pop.
"Because my computer here, shows that we have another client coming to the same apartment as you!"
"Oh? Do you know that person's name?"
"Oh dear, it's a male. That's why I asked if you had a partner. And yes, the male's name is Felix Evans. That name is in the same apartment as you, Kelsey Olson! Are you okay with that?"
"Oh, I think I can handle it because I kind of know him. Thanks for telling me though," confirmed Kelsey.
"Okay, you have our number, so call anytime! I'll see you today! Thanks!"
"Oh yah.. What's your-" The woman closed the call before Kelsey could ask what her name was.
She placed her hand over her forehead and rubbed her eyes. Something bothered her, but she still called Lily on Lily's cell. Lily wasn't picking up the call. Kelsey left a voice message and text to Lily. She grabbed a small milk carton from her refrigerator, and picked up an apple from one of the fruit baskets that she had. Kelsey knew she needed to call Lily again, so she called her one more time.
Lily picked up and sounded lightened up. "Hey!! I have a question!!"
"I had a question for you, but okay.."
"Okay, here it comes!! Should I ask Jake for his number? I have a serious CRUSH!!"
"Well, I wouldn't ask just yet Lily. I think you need to settle down on who's number you want."
"Sure.. Kelsey I want HIS number, and HIS number ONLY!
"Um..ok. Look, Lily... I have to ask you something..."
Lily's voice jumped, "Oooh. Tell me!"
Kelsey sighed, "I got an email from the Cosy Rosy Homes thingy, and it said that they only have one apartment left. I'm already booked but I can't drive there. Can you-"
"Can you walk there?" Lily slipped a piece of gum in her mouth and was now chewing on it.
"No."
"Okay then. Where is it?"
Kelsey drank a three sips of milk, "There is only one left. I have to be there today." I'm gonna pack after though."
"Darn! I have to go to my aunt's birthday party!! It's today at 4:00 p.m., and I have to leave in an hour anyway. Gotta get ready!! Text me! Bye..."
"Okay..." Kelsey received another call but it wasn't a familiar number, and she silenced the phone. It vibrated again, so this time, Kelsey she picked up..
"Hello?! Who is this?"
"Uh-huh..." The voice was familiar. Was it Felix?
"I said who is this?!"
"Your partner." It was clearly Felix, but he seemed like he was calling for no reason.
"What do you want? Stop bothering me." Kelsey wanted to just hang up, but she was too nice.
"Where are you?"
"Why do you care? Are you gonna stalk me now?"
"Why I care is why I care. I care cuz I care."
"I'm gonna hang up."
"You better not, Doll!"
Kelsey screamed so loud, "I AM NOT YOUR DOLL!"
"Well, whatever. Why did you touch me while we were sleeping?"
"What? I touched you? You locked me in your room! I was sleeping! People MOVE when they sleep! Where are you?"
"I just called to make sure you weren't alone in that house of yours."
"Now you're my security guard? Thanks! "Kelsey was only getting more mad by the sentence.
"I have to go."
"Ugh! You can be so weird sometimes!!" Kelsey wanted to hang up early but she also wanted to hear his response.
"You can be too." Felix hung up.
She looked at the clock on the wall and closed her eyes. She knew she had to walk to the building tomorrow, but still didn't know what to do about it..
A/Note: Thanks for reading this part! Sorry it was shorter, but while I was editing the part, I realized that it didn't need much more than a simple phone call. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed it, even though it wasn't comedy:) Haha, Okay..
