At Lunch on Wednesday:

Kelsey looked at the trees above her, on the dry wooden bench she sat on. Something caught her eye; the hot pink shirt and shoes, there stood Lily near the hallway waiting for someone as she finally leaned against the light blue painted wall. Kelsey watched her close to her eyes and paid attention to what she saw. Her heart almost skipped a beat once she thought of the most dreading image that Lily might have made a new friend to replace her.

From far away, Lily's slim body moved into the hallway and for some reason, the principal walked out searching for a clue that seemed strange. Kelsey got up from her seat even when she knew she needed to eat before she felt a cramp in her empty stomach. She quickly unzipped the backpack and got out a crunchy fiber bar from the inside pocket. Kelsey tore the wrapper off and hopped on the bar as fast as she could, being extremely careful when she gulped it down.
Running to the hallway where Felix usually stayed, she thought she would have to ask the principal if she could see what was happening, since he looked like he was guarding the area.

"Hello, Mr.Hernandez!"

"Hello! Do you need help?"

Kelsey saw the smile on his face and she loved the feeling of when a person in charge, smiled at her when she stated something. That made her feel special and respected. "Actually, my best friend is in the cafeteria hallway. Did anything wrong happen?"

Mr. Hernandez sure was hesitant about this question and answered while he thought. "Yes. Two boys had gone to a fight and we are trying to find out how it happened. Since you are some help to the situation, I guess you can see what had happened." The principal was a well-put together man. He carried great grammar, respect and a large smile even in the worst situations since he knew how to solve them.

Kelsey opened her smile and walked in the bright hallway as she saw Lily at the corner in front of her facing Jake and Felix. Felix had a cut on his arm and a faded pink bruise on his ear. Jake was found with a bleeding lip that he tried to stop, and a few bruises on his right arm with a little blood.

"Felix??!" Kelsey said angrily as she looked at his cuts. "What happened here?!!"

Felix's face relaxed when he heard her voice. The room was quiet. "Ask Jake. He must know."

Kelsey thought of how Mr. Hernandez didn't even send the cops or their parents over to the school. She might as well knew he was a gentle human. "Ja-Jake?"

"What? Not my fault I'm protecting my Lily!!" Jake's face formed swollen veins on his forehead as his brain fired in guilt.
Kelsey turned around and looked at Lily silently. Looking slightly down to make it appear that she was mad and sad at the same time, she said.. "We're you involved Lily?" Her eyes filled with tears and she ran to the bathroom at the other side of the cafeteria.

"No...."Kelsey said into the empty room of toilets and sinks.
She sobbed and sobbed, until her eyes drowned in the tears she made from her own pain. The door opened and hit the wall behind hit. Lily bent down to her knees and put her hand behind Kelsey's head where she felt the soft strands of her hair.

Lily weakly started. "No Kelsey. I wasn't involved but, it was.... about me...... And you..."

"What? What?!" Kelsey's crying stopped. Her head was padded by Lily's frosty hand.

"Okay. Felix said that-"

"Let me just talk to him..."

Lily grabbed Kelsey's arm before she could do anything and gently forced Kelsey back down to the floor and Kelsey sat down again before she could stand up. "I thought you didn't like him because of what he did..."
