" Ok Eric lets get ya out of this hospital."

"Yea." Eric responded with a smile.

Dr.Marcus stood at the door with a wheelchair. He pushed the wheelchair over to Eric's bed. It has been three weeks since they found out that Luke had,, died. Dr.Marcus lifted Eric easily into the wheelchair. He situated Eric in the chair, then he pushed him out of the hospital room and into the hall. Doctor and patients walked through the hall.

Dr.Marcus pushed him to an elevator door. He pushed the down arrow and the door quickly opened. Dr.Marcus pushed him into it with his mom right behind him. Eric's Mom pushed the button where it said level 1. The door closed. While they waited Eric thought. Luke's dead, what am I going to do. So lonely, with only him and his Mom. That thought lead to his Dad.

Dad.

His Dad had left Luke, him and his Mom 5 years ago. Ever since then there had been a hole cut in their life. Now with Luke gone, even more has been cut. His Dad was the nicest Dad he could ever have. He never yelled at them, never got mad or annoyed. But one day, Mom and Dad got in a fight over something not worth fighting over. They fought so bad that the next night, his Dad left.

Never saw him since. The elevator door opened to the lobby and Dr.Marcus pushed Eric to the slid doors that led to the outside. He then walked over to a room and carried out some crutches. " Here," he said, " You'll need these too for later." His Mom took them and put the crutches on Eric's lap.

" This is goodbye," Dr.Marcus said, " If there is anything that goes wrong with Eric, please call me." He handed Eric's Mom a card and some other papers. She then grabbed the handles on Eric's wheelchair and started pushing him to their grey mini van. She opened the automatic slid door. His Mom lifted Eric into a seat, and Eric buckled himself in. She then pushed the wheelchair over to the trunk of the car and lifted the wheelchair into it.

She walked over to the drivers seat and opened the door and got in. She started the car and drove our of the hospital parking lot.

The ride home was silent.

Eric's Mom then drove up their drive way and up their garage. she shut off the car and she opened his car door and walked over to the trunk to get the wheel chair. He bounced into it and his Mom pushed him over to the door and Eric opened the door. She then pushed him the living room and Eric looked around. Everything was a mess. His Mom walked started walking to the car to get the crutches. She came back and lay them an a sofa.

Eric pushed himself over to his and Luke's bedroom. He opened the door and switched on the lights. He looked inside. Nothing looked out of the ordinary. There was Eric's and Luke's bunk bed. Luke's bunk was the top and Eric's was the bottom. There were the shelves with pictures of him and Luke doing fun activities and some of their possessions on there too. And there was Their desk where they worked on homework and wrote stories together.

And there was their box full of legos where they took them out and had fun lego battles. None of that stuff matters now that Luke is dead, he thought to himself. Eric pushed himself over to his bed covers. He reached over and felt it. It still had that soft texture that he loved. He hopped onto it and lay on it. he stretched his arms out and sighed. He looked over to see his Mom sitting on a chair looking at the papers Dr.Marcus gave her.

Eric sighed again and shut his eyes. And before he knew it, he was asleep.
