Hey Everyone,

Do I really need to say this? I don't own the characters or the Harry Potter universe, but the plot is mine. I wish I was J.K. Rowling!!

I decided that the whole Girl's Night thing is kind of odd, so it's going to be pivotal but not in the way I originally planned. Sorry for the long wait between updates. You guys have been so encouraging!

I tried to write a guy conversation this chapter! I don't know if this is anything like how guys talk, but I tried.

There isn't a lot of Jily mostly just the two friend groups talking about stuff.

Enjoy this chapter <3

Lily's POV

Marlene explained everything that night. "It was over the summer," she explained. "In June. I went over to James's house because my parents had to do Auror stuff. And Sirius was there too. He lives there full time, you know. And, well, you know... it was at their HOUSE." she finished, embarrassed.

"There's nothing to be ashamed of, Marlene," Alice said kindly.

"It's really not that bad," I consoled. "It's not like anyone walked in on you or anything." Marlene reddened.

"Oh, Merlin," groaned Alice. "Whom?"

"His Great Aunt," Marlene whispered, mortified.

"No!" I exclaimed.

"It was awful. But, well, now it's fine."

Alice nodded. "When did you realize you loved him?"

"Just recently. It was this totally romantic outing right on the day before school started. And we were just sitting in Diagon Alley, and it clicked. I really do love him," Marlene finished breathlessly.

"You didn't tell him, did you?" I knew that Sirius would totally back away from commitment. But still, he had taken her on a date.

"Nope, I thought he would break up with me. I'm going to wait until we spend more time together," said Marlene.

Thats a relief, I thought. "It's been a long night, huh?"

Alice nodded. "First Snape attacking you--"

"HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT!?"

"Um, this is Hogwarts!" Alice rolled her eyes. "The gossip here is more extreme than Witch Weekly!"

Marlene looked like she felt better. "And," she said in a dramatic whisper, "rumor is that when Potter was attacked you basically flung yourself at him, like some badly done Muggle movie."

"I DID NOT! Well, I kind of screamed, but that was instinct."

Alice scoffed. "Instinct? Last year, you would have cheered if someone hexed him, even if it was Snape who did it!"

"Things are different from last year!" I argued. "We're friends now!"

"Uh huh," said Alice skeptically.

"You're calling him James again!" Marlene exclaimed.

"WE'RE FRIENDS OKAY? Just friends!"

"I totally believe that," said Alice.

"FOR NOW," Marlene added.

"You guys are so difficult!" I whined. "I'm going to bed!"

I headed to the Head Boy and Girl common room, down the winding staircases and through the ever-changing hallways. Most of the other students were in bed already. It was marvelous how different the castle was at night. I actually strolled all the way up, the new moon glowing through the wide windows. It was quite easy to fall asleep that night, the wind blowing through the cotton curtains.
