¡Hallo!

UM ALMOST 600 READS GUYS?!

I know that sounds like nothing but really it's a lot you have no idea!

Sadly, I am not JK Rowling. She owns the characters, universe, and basic plot ideas (Like putting Jily together in the first place). However, the plot belongs to me.

Enjoy this next chappie!!

Lily's POV

It was nearing the end of November, and all was well. Mostly.

After Sirius's birthday debacle, things sort of fell apart between the Marauders. I was, of course, furious with Sirius and hardly spoke to him at all. What really surprised me, though, was that James was too. I could tell it was ripping him up inside though. He needed his best friend. I wanted to say something about it, but then I felt like I would be betraying Marlene. So I kept it to myself. Until that morning.

I walked to Charms alone, because I could not find James. I had a spring in my step as I ambled down the hallway, remembering last night's walk on the grounds. I was ripped out of my reverie, however, when I rounded the corner and heard shouting. I broke into a run, thinking it must be the Slytherin Death-Eaters-to-be attacking an innocent Muggle-Born. However, I stumbled into a very different scene.

Sirius was arguing with a shorter, stockier version of himself. I realized it must be his brother, Regulus, who was a Slytherin fifth year.

"Just because you're my brother doesn't mean you can tell me what to do!" he shouted. "You're a filthy blood traitor and I can do whatever I want! I will honor my family, not cast them aside like some Muggle-loving fool!" he shouted. I my jaw probably hit the floor, but I did not make a noise. I stood there silently, waiting for Sirius's response. I did not mean to eavesdrop.....it just, well, kind of happened that I ended up eavesdropping.

"Well, I'm sorry if I think it's a bit ridiculous to go traipsing around with Lord Voldemort!" Sirius retorted.

"How dare you speak the Dark Lord's name! Besides, it is already done. And Mother is so very proud. I'm the favorite, you see. She will never love you," said Regulus.

"I DON'T NEED HER LOVE! I DON'T WANT A MOTHER LIKE HER! I HAVE MR. AND MRS. POTTER! THEY ARE MY MOM AND DAD!" I noticed his voice falter at that. He must be thinking of the fight with James. I had no idea that Sirius had lived with him. Would he still take Sirius in after that? I realized that I had to do something. James needed Sirius and Sirius needed James, just not in the way everyone always joked about.

Regulus laughed and stalked off, leaving Sirius in corridor alone. I was late for Charms class, but I didn't care. Sirius was slumped again the wall, and from the look of it, he was trying not to cry. I tentatively walked up to where he was sitting and slid down next to him. "You alright?" I asked softly.

Sirius turned to me. "What are you doing?!" he snapped.

"Being a friend," I said. "I might really hate what you did to Marlene, but....you need someone."

"I don't need anyone!" said Sirius defiantly. "I can do this myself!"

"Sirius-I heard everything that--"

"You were eavesdropping, weren't you!"

"Well, you weren't exactly that hard to overhear," I defended lamely.
