Chapter 16: Courtney, We Meet Again

-Previously on Running for 1300 Years-

"Long Live King Caspian, Long Live Queen Leona!" The crowd yelled to us. Then everyone clapped which made me smile.

"Now come Majesties" Father said.

"We must show the kingdom our new King and Queen" Father said leading us to the outside. When we got out there were six horses out there. A soldier told us which horse to get on. The horse I had was next to Caspian and was Marble. Father got in front and lead the way. The Telmarine people made a path for us to ride. They would throw pettles at us and cheered with centaurs following behinds us. Never thought I would be a Queen but it happened. I'm now named Queen Leona, The Spirited.

-And now on Running for 1300 Years-

Leo's POV

We were back in the castle having a party for the coronation. Me and Caspian were walking around getting congratulations and stuff like the from different Telmarines and Narnian's. I was talking to a telmarine couple until something caught my eye. It was a girl stand by herself at a balcony. She looked like someone I have quite a history with.

"Please excuse me " I asked. They bowed and I bowed back. I walked over to the girl who had her back to me. She was all along with no one else looking at the starry night sky.

"Courtney Lynch! I wasn't expecting to see you here" I said acting to be surprised from behind her. Se turned around but turned back towards the night.

"Well don't get all happy and anything! I'm here because of Caspian. I'm his personal sword fight trainer" She explained her reason.

"Is that it?" I asked standing next to her.

"And I'm also guessing you want an apology for all fights I get you in?" She guessed.

"Yes... but more of an explanation why you did?" I said.

"Jealousy" She said in one word.

"Sorry What?" I asked confused. What does she mean jealousy?

"Jealousy just got the best of me" She expanded it.

"What do you mean 'jealousy just got the best of me'? What are you jealous of?" I ask still confused.

"The life you live. I mean you went on great adventures! you went to a world the kings and queens of old are originally from! You have great friends! You're boyfriend is royalty! You're even the Daughter of Aslan for crying out loud and to add onto my list you're now Queen of Narnia!" She yelled explaining the jealously inside her.

"Courtney, your great at fight. Your really strong, your probably the only girl in telmarine that can fight! But you seriously need to catch up your history! Do you know the history of the Kings and Queens of Old very well?" I asked. She shakes her head as a no.

"I just know the basics"

"Like what I said. You seriously need to catch up your history!" I said again.

"My life did have adventure but not always. My life is actually worst then you think" I started.

"I'm listening" She said getting comfy.

"When I was three, my mother was killed by the White Witch. So when I was five, I had to go in hiding but in a different world that my father sent me to"

"The world where you met the Pevensies"

"Exactly but when I enter into they're world, I look like a human and I had o change my name to Lilly. So eight years later when I was thirteen I met the kings and queens for the first time. When I met them, they won't royalty yet and they didn't know that Narnia excites. I was scared to be living under the same roof as them because I didn't want them to find my world were they would see the real me and think I was insane. That was until one day we decided to play hide n'seek. I chose to hide in a special place that was a wardrobe. The wardrobe was the only was I could get back into Narnia whenever I wanted to. I was with a friend of mine named Mr. Tumnus and I was helping him with a few boxes and packages. Somehow, out of nowhere I saw Queen Lucy in Narnia for the first time. Tumnus and I introduced ourselves acting like I saw for the first time in my life and took her to Tumnus's home for some tea. Moments later, we had to go back to Lucy's world and when I was able to get Lucy alone I told her the truth"

"What about the others?" She asked interested in the story.

"The second time I went into Narnia I was with Lucy but I had a feeling someone else was there as well. I let Lucy go to Tumnus with me exploring a bit. Then I see Edmund looking around carelessly but she was in trouble because he was about to get hit by the Witch in her sleigh. So I push Ed out of the way saving his life." I continue to explain the first adventure I had returning home. Courtney seemed really interested in the story.

"You never really explained why you have that piece of jewellery around your neck for. Why?" She asked pointing to it.

"Oh, this necklace is more important then you think. You see when I left at the age of five, Father made this necklace for me to be protected from any evil. When he gave me this he said 'This will keep you away from danger that try to attack you for that it has the love I give you. if you treasure and love the necklace as much as you love me, it will hurt anything in its path'. What he meant by that is love this necklace as I have loved you" I explained remembering the day.

"You see Courtney, your life is actually better then mine. I would kill to have the life you have. Even though I have amazing family and friends that I would never give up on. I love the life you have so I should be the one thats Jealous. Yeah sure I went to different worlds and have magical powers that run through my vains but if you look on the back side, your life is better because you have less horrible memories." I said smiling, she smiled back.

"After hearing your past, I now feel really guilty for trying to hurt a Daughter of Aslan and now a Queen of Narnia. I apologise for all the battles we had with me trying to kill you" She said looking at me dead in the eyes. I could tell she was dead serious.

"Well then we should have a fresh start" I suggested.

"Hello, I'm Leona Aslan" I introduced myself with my hand out.

"Courtney Lynch" She said shaking it. We continue to talk like we just met each other for the first time then fireworks can. They looked so beautiful with each colour exploding into the night sky.

"For once I'm happy to see fireworks" I said.

"What?" She looked at me confused.

"They take a huge part in my memories about Telmarines. I'm guessing you know why" I explained. It took her a while to realise. I'm finally meeting someone as a real person. Even though we have quite a past, we can finally get our differences together and meet each other as actual people.
