Chapter thirty six: The last card

Lia phoned Laura..

"Hi Laura. I really need to talk to you." Lia said on the phone

"What? You prepared everything for your birthday?" Laura replied

"Almost everything except the most important thing, the birthday dress. I ordered one but it didn't arrive yet."

"Oh.. Don't worry it will arrive soon."

"I wasn't calling you for that reason. Laura, stuff got complicated. I don't know what to do."

"What happened? Something related with Joe?"

"Yeah." Lia said sadly

"Oh my God. What happened?"

"First tell me how are you and Maxel?"

"Maxel came and he saw mom and dad and they agreed thanks God. Dad at first was confused as Maxel wanted us to marry quickly and dad didn't like this. We will make an engagement party soon then we will prepare our house."

"Wow so excited for you."

"So tell me now. What happened?"

"It's kind of long story. Can't you come now to talk?"

"Now?"

"Yes now."

"Okay honey. 10 minutes and I will be in your room with you."

"Haha okay babe. Waiting for you."

Laura came and entered the room after she knocked

"Hey. I thought you slept." Laura said entering the room and sitting on the edge of her bed

"Slept? No I was waiting for you and preparing my makeup products for tomorrow."

"Great. Tell me what happened with you and Joe."

"Laura, Joe cheated on me. I know he didn't do something big as those girls and guys said but at least he was with a lady in her home alone. He was in her room kissing. Wh-what do you wanna me do?" Lia said nervously

"Oh my Lord. How this happened? I don't understand! He loves you so what...what made him do that?" Laura puzzled

"He actually didn't mean it. The girl lied to him and told him that she was poor and she needs some books for school and the arranged to meet near her home. He didn't find her when he reached there. She screamed and pretended something is happening so he went up to her home and then to her room and the girl made him kiss her but at the end he kissed her." Lia cried

"Ohh. But Lia he didn't mean to cheat on you. Did something happen between them?" Laura asked awkwardly

"No, he then left her home..... But he didn't tell me until those group of girls and guys made a laugh of me and told me your boyfriend was with another lady. They are stupid, he..he wasn't even my boyfriend."

"When he wasn't even your boyfriend why are you so nervous on him? Why are jealous? Hah?"

"I am not jealous. I am...I am upset." Lia sighed

"He still loves you Lia. No matter what happened. I think you have to forgive him. Because you love him."

"I don't. Cause I think I like another guy."

"What?" Laura laughed

"Yeah, you are laughing even before I tell you how I met him."

"How?"

"He was asking normally about an address. I have no idea why I liked him and think of him all the day." Lia rolled her eyes at the window

"Are you crazy or sick? Address what? What are you talking about?"

"I thought he will leave after we explained to him how to go the address he wanted, but instead he asked to know me and he took my phone number and he is calling me everyday. I invited him to my birthday."

"This is incredible. Babe, don't say that. Of course you don't love him. How? You saw him just once. It's not by appearance Lia. Don't do like me when I let Jone hurt me. It was too hard. I prefer you don't rush. Don't give him your heart." Laura said

"I will try." Lia said
"Laura I wanna cry. I am so confused. Who I love? Who? I don't know.. It's the most stupid thing ever that could happen to anyone..."

"You should make up your mind. Think well Lia. See who you love and who you can't live without. Do you love Joe?"

Lia thought for a bit "I swear I don't know. I liked him but now I don't. I erased him from my life or I am trying. But I thought you would tell me to give Noah a chance."

"Look, Noah appeared after you fought with Joe so he was like a revenge. You want to know a new guy to make him feel jealous or take your revenge. But...if you don't love Joe so give Noah a chance."

"How can I return back to Joe after what he did? Hah? Plus there is something bigger and more complicated.... My best friend Rayna loves Joe. She loves him. I promised her to leave him so she can appear in his life."

"What?! Oh my God. That's impossible. Why did you do that? Assuming she loves him, what would she do when he doesn't love her! He doesn't love her because he loves you or at least likes you." Laura said can't find a reason for what Lia did

"I know but that's what happened."

"Lia, I think you have to use your birthday. Use it correctly. Invite Noah and Joe and Rayna and all of the ones who loved you or you loved them and see which one you will love and like and which one who will ignore you and so on. It's your last card to choose and know your position. Because I think you are living in a mess."

"I don't understand. But you will help me right?"

"Sure hun sure. Now I will leave okay?"

"Okay but come early tomorrow."

"Okay bye." Laura said then left her

Lia's mobile rang...

"Hi...who?" Lia said as it was a new number for her

"I am Brixton. Don't you know me?"

"Oh Brix Miss you so much. You will come tomorrow for sure."

"Of course but I am asking you to invite Taila my girlfriend and her sister as well."

"Sure Brix. Don't forget to invite your mom and dad and Jak for me."

"How about Rayna?"

"No, leave her alone at home." Lia laughed

"Better." Brixton laughed

"See you tomorrow. Don't be late please." Lia said before she ended the call

Oh I forgot to invite Maxel...

Lia sent a message to Maxel and Maxel agreed..
