Torn (A malec fanfic)

Chapter 6

Jace's POV:

It was just a normal hunt. That is until we saw a demon that we never saw before. It wasnt exactly very big, it's pretty average sized. It has about ten or more limps and a rectangular face. It's body has a layer of transparent-looking thing which I now assume it was poison. And to add on to this, there were two of them attacking us. This unknown demon is very fast and very agile. Different from most demons we usually encounter.

I killed one of it and I didn't realised that izzy was in danger until I heard her scream. I couldn't think of anywhere else to go other than to Magnus. He could refuse to help but really what other choice do I have left?

Magnus has been working on izzy for about three hours now? I tried calling Alec but he didn't answer, not that I blame him since it's currently in the middle of the night but this is an emergency.

I called Alec again. But still no answer. Finally after like trying ten times, he finally did.

"ALEC! WHY DIDN'T YOU ANSWER THE PHONE!! I'VE BEEN CALLING SINCE YESTERDAY!" I shored immediately after he picked it up

"I've been asleep Jace," he murmured, the way he said it seemed like that's not what he did but I really don't care.

"I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU DID YESTERDAY ALEC. JUST GET YOUR FREAKING ASS HERE RIGHT NOW. ISABELLE IS HURT!" Was what I said instead

"Izzy is-is-hurt?" Alec spluttered.

"Yes. Come here now!" I hung up.

Magnus's POV:

I've been working for hours now. Or at least it felt like hours. I didn't even know why I agreed to help that blonde, maybe it's because of the desperation in his eyes when he came to me in the middle of the night or maybe it's the fact that I still could not forget that blue-eyed shadow hunter.

I pushed my hair out of my face as I performed yet another spell on Isabelle. That demon bitten her in her neck and it is now swollen. I tried every method I could think of to get the poison out of her body but there just isn't any way! I stopped the blood which was easy enough but whenever I try to get the poison out, there seems to be something preventing me from using my magic.

What demon did they encounter this time? I groaned in frustration as I failed yet again. What exactly can I do? Even though the poison is still inside her body, it doesn't seems to spread to anywhere near her heart which was a good thing as it gives me more time to think of a way to save her.

I heard the door open rather hastily and I assumed it is Alec, who else could it be? No one would dare disturb me in the middle of the night.

I heard muffled voices outside and it was pretty obvious that the two of them were shouting at each other.

I focused my attention back on Isabelle, looking at her limp and pale body. Come on Magnus, there has to be a way right? Think! Think!

Alec's POV:

"What the hell happened? How did Izzy get hurt!" I opened the door maybe a little hurriedly.

Jace was pacing on and on and this is the first time I ever seen him so anxious and worried. He looked up when I came in and he heaved a sigh of relief.

"Alec! Thank the angel you came! We went hunting as usual but then we met this weird looking demon and it bit Izzy. I came here and Magnus has been working on her for," he looked at the time, "One hours and twenty-four minutes."

"WHAT! That is way too long! Magnus wouldn't take such a long time unless-unless-" No way Magnus would take so long to heal Izzy.

"It is serious, why else do you think I'm so worried?" He finished my sentence and looked away with his arms folded.

"Oh my gosh, it's all my fault that izzy is hurt! I should have went out with you to hunt. I should have protected her, now I nee-" I rambled on and on, it's all my fault. It's all my fault.

"Alec, it's not your fault, if it is anyone's, it would have to be mine, I didn't notice that izzy was in trouble until it bit her," he glanced at the room that Magnus is. "Does he ever take this long to heal anyone?"

"I don't know Jace. What did you say that demon was?" Izzy has to be okay. Magnus is the high warlock of Brooklyn, he must be able to heal izzy.

"That's exactly the point! I have no freaking idea what demon it was. I've never seen it ever! It is like quite small but very agile and fast. It appears to have this layer of poison on its body but I can't confirm it," Jace looks very frustrated and just as I opened my mouth to speak, the door opened.

Not the front door but the door to the room which Magnus and izzy was in. Magnus walked out looking a little tired but still the same Magnus that I love.

"Is she okay? Is she conscious right now? Can I-" Jace started off walking towards that room.

A flash of annoyance crossed Magnus' face as he interrupted Jace, "No."

Jace looked surprised and at a loss of words, for the first time since I met him.

"What do you mean no?" I asked instead. Magnus turned to look at me in the eye for the first time since he came out of the room. He's eyes softened a little as he said gently,

"Alexander, I mean no, you're sister is not okay, no she's not conscious right now," I must have looked very alarmed as he added," but you could go and see her."
