Zip Lining

Lukas had always wanted to go zip lining. Ever since he was young. Though, he thought his chances were gone when he found out that he had M.S.. So, he wrote it on his bucket list. He started writing the list when his mother left. Though, he didn't call it his bucket list, he called it his adventure list.

Mathias on the other hand had always been terrified of heights. He'd refuse to ride roller coasters, go sky diving, anything that had to do with heights was a big no-no for him. The Dane had no clue what was in the other's mind.

Mathias was wondering what the other had on his list. The Dane had promised himself that he would make Lukas smiled before he dies.

The Dane had made his way to the living room after the both of them had eaten their breakfast for the day. Lukas was already there, looking through what he called his 'magic book'. Not that Mathias actually believed in that stuff.

Mathias bounced down onto the couch, right next to the other, "What's on the agenda for today?"

Lukas looked up at the other, "What do you mean by that?"

"You know, what's the first adventure we have?"

"Um, well the first in my book is.." he thought before remembering, "Zip lining."

The Dane bit his lip, nodding, "I don't have to zip line too...right?" He asked, a bit afraid of the answer.

"Well, it wouldn't be as fun. I want to see you freak out," Lukas stared at the other, both his face and voice emotionless.

"How do you know I'd be afraid?"

"The way you're reacting to the suggestion. Fidgeting, biting your lip. Common signs of fear or anxiety," Lukas airily said, not even thinking about what he was saying. He thought of every one in the world, a doctor would know.

"But...do I have to?"

"Of course, it wouldn't be as fun to do it alone, plus if I make it to one side and something bad happens, it'd be on you right?" Lukas tilted his head.

'Damn, he's right.' Mathias thought. "I guess you're right." He sighed. Heights have always scared him for such a long time. Ever since he lived back at the orphanage. He was constantly up on the roof with this Canadian boy, who he'd forgotten his name, and Mathias would freak out.

Since he was always so awesome though, he couldn't let the younger boy know he was scared. SO, he'd play pretend and be strong like a his ancestors, vikings. The Canadian, of course, knew the other was terrified, though he just acted not to know.

Anyway, Lukas had finally convinced Mathias, so they were both getting ready. By now, Lukas was straightening his hair, ready. Whereas, Mathias was tying his boots.

Soon, the two got outside, Mathias locked the door, and they both headed towards the car. Of course, Lukas brought a book to read on the way. As if the Dane would even give him a chance. He wanted to learn everything about him.

As soon as they got into the car, the two buckled up, and Mathias started the car. "So," he started, backing out of the driveway, "What's your favorite color?"

"Black," Lukas shrugged.

"Black isn't a color though..."

"Fine, blue," Lukas said, opening his book.

"Oh, red is my favorite color! It matches the Danish flag!"

"Yes, I know it does," the Norwegian said, turning his page.

"Okay.." Mathias was quiet for a while, "Do you have any nicknames?"

"No, nor do I care for them."

"Can I give you one?" Mathias asked, looking over as they hit a red light.

"Why?" Lukas still didn't look up.

"Because, nicknames are fun," he chuckled, waiting for the light.

"I guess, but don't expect me to answer to it."

"Okay," Mathias drove forward as the light turned green. He was now thinking of a nickname.

The ride was quiet other than the sound of the radio playing quietly and Lukas turning pages. The zip lining course was not all too far from where Mathias' house was located, though it wasn't exactly right next door. Though, they were coming pretty close.

Mathias parked and looked over, "Got it!" He smiled.

"Got what?" Lukas looked up, closing his book.

"Norge," was all Mathias said. This earned an odd look from Lukas.

"Um..okay," Lukas nodded slowly, sighing. "Because I'm Norwegian...or?"

"I don't know, it suits you," Mathias turned off the car, smiling brightly.

Lukas' pinks tinted a soft pink, "Sure, whatever you say," he rolled his eyes, looking at the other.

Mathias unbuckled, "Ready?" Lukas nodded, following the other's action and they both got out of the car, Mathias locking the doors. You can never be too careful.

The two walked to the building, signing up for an hour. Lukas and Mathias both shared the fee, though Lukas wanted to pay it all, seeing as it was his idea after all, but Mathias would never let that happen.

The pair decided Lukas should go first, seeing as Mathias was practically about to pee his pants from fear.

As soon as Lukas was harnessed the right way, he looked back at Mathias. Mathias just smiled, "Don't get dead," he joked, as the other got ready to go.

"I'll try," Lukas rolled his eyes playfully, kicking off.

Today was going to fun and adventure filled.

Well...was.

When Mathias finally had to go, he started to freak out a bit and squirmed when he was being harnessed. He actually got so scared, he yelled at the instructor and got the two boys kicked out of the lining court. Lukas was so embarrassed.

When the two got into the car, he looked over at the other, "You stupid Dane! That's so embarrassing!" Lukas stared at him.

"Norge, calm down, I freaked out, okay?" Mathias covered his face, "It's more embarrassing when you're in your twenties and can't even go ten feet in the air without feeling like screaming."

"Fine, just....embarrassing..." Lukas sighed, buckling up.

The two didn't talk the whole car ride home. Mathias turned the radio up, calming down and singing along, while Lukas kept reading his 'magic book.'

Eventually, Mathias looked over, "You do know magic isn't real...right?"

Lukas looked over at the other, glaring, "What do you mean by that."
