Alex's POV
I asked the waitress for a table as I sat and waited for Taylor to come. Growing impatient, I decided to text him. Hey, where are you? I've been waiting for like 10 minutes, are you almost here? SENT. Almost instantaneously, there was a reply. Oh my god, Alex, I need you to listen to me extremely carefully. Leave the restaurant right now! Do you hear me? Right now! I knew he was serious because he almost never called me Alex, it was always Lex, or Lexi. So I decided to take him up on his offer and leave quickly. Just as I was walking out to my car and unlocking the doors, someone grabbed my hands, gagged me, and covered my eyes. Then they pulled me into a car that wasn't mine and let me see again. When my eyes refocused, I saw that I was in some type of creepy kidnapper van. I found that my phone was still in my bag, which they hadn't bothered to take. But since my hands were tied up, I couldn't reach it. Becoming increasingly more scared, I felt my eyelids growing heavy but I forced them to stay open in case I got a chance to see where I was so I could call 911 or something. I must have dozed off for a tiny bit though because when I woke up, I was in a room with nothing but a dirty blanket, a drain, some toilet paper and my bag, which, to my relief, still had my phone inside. However, when I tried to use it I found that it had no reception. I must be underground, I thought. Well, at least my phone is fully charged so I can at least play on my games. What a pathetic thought. Why should I care about what happens in my games when half of my games are coming to life, right before my eyes. Just then I noticed something weird about all the texts I had gotten from Taylor since he called me last night to set up our little rendezvous. They each had a few letters that stuck out. The first one- hey Donut, Oh, Not sorry I called you That. Maybe we can gO shopping at hyVee latEr. The second one- Well Elephant, Come At Noon, To see the Race At the Cool Kat surrender to Your Own Umbrella. The third one- Fugly Reagan On the Mississippi/Yorktown On the dUmb Racquet. Phony, Humble Ontario Never Evolves. I kept reading them over and over until I finally understood, the capital letters go in order to form a message that only I could find. So then I put them in order in my head. DONT MOVE WE CAN TRACK YOU FROM YOUR PHONE. I didn't know if anyone could hear me but I didn't want to take chances so in my head I was screaming so loud for joy. I knew exactly what this meant. . .
I was going to be busted out of here
Morgan's POV
I was hoping that by now, Alex would have figured out the encoded texts and she would know we were coming for her so she wouldn't take it upon herself to escape. Right now, we were driving to upstate Wyoming. Huh, figures that their secret abduction lair would be in like the most boring/unpopulated state. Less people to figure them out and turn them in. Taylor packed blankets, because we wouldn't be sleeping in a hotel, we were sleeping in his car. Less than 2 feet away from each other. Awkward much? Wait a second, did I like Taylor? Even a little bit? No! You can't do this to Alex, history can't repeat itself, this is what caused us to stop being friends in the first place. Except the first time, it was a little worse of course. I did steal her date, her dress, and her crown during senior prom, so I can't keep doing this. Even if I freaking fell in love with Taylor, I can't do this to her, not again. So I've made up my mind. Nothing romantic would ever go on between Taylor and I unless Alex has approved. "Hey, so where do you want to stop for dinner?" Taylor asked me. "Um we could just stop and grab some McDonalds and some Dairy Queen blizzards." I answered, hoping he would just accept the Dairy Queen request. "I can see right through your hopefulness for Dairy Queen but," he paused like he was about to say no, "Your not the first one to think of that idea." He grinned an adorable grin and then suddenly got serious. He started mumbling to himself quietly, "No, you're going to save your girlfriend right now, get it together, you're just missing her Taylor, come on." He talks to himself? Soo cute. I mean, uh nothing, I feel nothing for Taylor. "Okay Taylor, I think it's pretty obvious that we both feel at least something for each other, so I think if we just say it out loud, we can both move on to finding Alex instead of letting it just be awkward between us." I said plainly. By now we were in the McDonalds parking lot about ready to get out. Before the last word was completely out of my mouth something else was on my mouth. Taylor's. He had just leaned up to me and started kissing me hard. The weird thing is, I didn't pull back. Instead, I started kissing him back. In thirty seconds this had went from I feel nothing about him, to, let's let him put his tongue inside my mouth. Without ever taking his lips off mine, he leaned his seat all the way back, pulled me onto his lap, and had gotten his hands around my skinny waist. One of my hands was on his arm, stroking it up and down, and the other was sliding back through his hair. Suddenly, I was starving, but not for food. For him. Just then, I realized what I was doing. This is my best friends boyfriend. I've got to stop this right now. I thought to myself. So, with a lot of hesitation, I pulled away from his gorgeously chiseled, slightly wet lips and straightened my clothes up and moved back to my own seat. Well, this is gonna make the future a LOT more awkward. Then I opened the door, got out and started walking into McDonalds.
