Through the Mirror

Chapter 8

"I'm so sorry...I don't know what's wrong with me.." The color red was shining as bright as Celestia's sun across my face. My head was fully off his shoulder but I couldn't look at his face.

Oh Celestia this is embarrassing. What's wrong with me.
"Princess? Princess Twilight are you alright?"
His voice was a little shaky, as if he was nervous for some reason. Slowly I lifted my head up to make eye contact, but stopped when I saw his cheeks.
His cheeks are as red as mine, maybe even redder. I wonder why his cheeks are red...he has no reason to be embarrassed. I'm the one falling on him...

"Um princess?" Flash said while he lowered his head to make eye contact with me. "Are you alright?"
"Yes, I just don't know why I'm so clumsy today. I'm sorry for all this trouble, I'm sorry for being trouble."
"Princess.."
"Please just call me Twilight."
"Umm ok Twilight..you are not any trouble. You must just be tired from your journey here that's all" He smiled at me when he finished.
"Yeah you're probably right." I smiled faintly back at him " I also have a lot on my mind as well."
"Well you've saved Equestria from danger before. I have faith you can do it again and you're not alone Princess."
"I know..."

Before I could say anymore I heard hoofs coming down the hall towards us. I looked to where the noise was coming from and saw Shinning Armor turn the corner. When he saw us he walked briskly down our way.
"There you are. "
"Sir?"
"Flash I want you to personally guard my sister."
"Shinning Amor I don't think that's necessary." I tried to protest but I knew it was in vain.
"No you are my younger sister and a princess. I want my best guard with you while you are here."
"Yes sir."
"Good I will see you two tomorrow."
Flash bowed his head while I nodded at my brother. There is no arguing with him sometimes.

"Well are you ready to get to your room?"
"Yes please."
We continued walking towards my room in silence.

I wonder why his face turned red back there and why my brother is being so protective of me. Well maybe now I'll actually get the chance to talk to him since he's now going to be with me until this is over. *sigh* at least that's one good thing that's coming out of all this.

We walked down two more hallways until flash abruptly stopped in front of a door. Thank Celestia I was paying attention or I would have walked into him again.
"This is your room."
"Thank you."
He opened the door for me and bowed as I started walking in.
"Have a good night Flash."
"You as well Princess."
I couldn't help but giggle "I told you just call me Twilight. I know you are a royal guard but I say it's ok for you to call me just by my name."
"Get some rest Twilight"

I smiled at him as I finished walking into my room and closed the door behind me.
