I sit on the steps of the front porch. Waiting. My ticket in my hand. Waiting.

Im wearing a knee - low teal coloured dress with white converse, loom band bracelets up my wrist.

8:00

Waiting.

8:05

Waiting.

I catch a glimpse of a dark figure walking down the street toward me. Finally, I think. I stand up, my hopes flying sky high, then tumble down as I release that the person waking up my path is not Oliver, but James. "Riley? Right?" I nod, confused. James eyes where wet and his hands where shaking. "Where's Oliver?" I ask, a little embarrassed. "Um well, you might want to sit down" he says and sits down and gestures for me to. Suddenly worried, I crouch down next to him. "Where is he? Whats going on?" James just looks at me, eyes owl wide.

"We where walking over here to pick you up, we where about a block away when we crossed the road, a car was a safe distance away. About half  way across the road the car sudden came out of nowhere, Oliver pushed me out of the way, but...Oliver..." Tears welled up in his eyes, my eyes where already streaming with tears. "Is he ok?" I whisper though sniffs. ( it sounded more like: Ish e oh k?) "he's in the hospital, he...wanted me to...take you to see him" relief rushes through me, if he's still breathing, I'm still ok. "Yep, ok"

The bus drive to the hospital is like a daydream. Me or James don't talk the whole ride.

"Um, we're here to see Oliver?" James tells the receptionist lady. "Surname?" She asks, not even looking up. "Oh right, Cooper, Oliver cooper." He says embarrassed. "Room 401" she says and shoves up map in our direction then continues typing frantically. "Uh, thanks" James mutters and we head off to the elevator.

Room 399
Room 400
Room 401

James opens the door, walks over to a bed and sits down on a chair next to him. I stand in the doorway, Still in my dress. "Riley?" Croaks Oliver. "Yes yes yes Oliver I'm here" I rush over and crouch down next to the bed. His parents stand in the corner of the room, holding on to one another, crying. Oliver's face is vampire pale, his skin cold as metal. But his eyes, still as Green As ever. "Good" he whispers. "I can't come to school again" he says. I know what he means, he'll never come to school again. "I'm not going to say: my time as come, but this is my time" he smiles to himself, it looks painful. "I seem a little to young to go, don't I?" He laughs, then coughs and sighs. "Please don't go" I beg.

Please Oliver, please don't go. You can't, you can't leave me. Please...

"I have to"  he says, eyes closed.  "No! Please!" I'm full on crying now, unstoppable tears flow down my cheeks. "See you later alligator" Oliver says and takes a deep breath in, then out. I lay my head in my hands, and cry. I want to cry till the world ends, I never want to wake up. Because Oliver is dead. And I can't bring him back.
