I hear a knock on the door and turn around to see Oliver standing in the doorway, arms wide open, I don't move, we just lock eyes. "Riley" he says "riley" louder this time "Riley!"
And cold hard reality hits me.
I really am broken, because in the door is not Oliver, it's Caitlin, "Riley!" She says, "hmm yeah?" I murmur. "We're leaving soon" she tells me, and her face goes red as she says "I'm sorry...and...uh...I love you"
"I love you too" I say, smiling. She flashes me a smile of relief and walks away. When you miss someone you love,
You can't cry enough.I've Been isolating myself in my room for the past 2 days. Pathetic. My only visitors have been, mom, Julia, lucy, Cody and James. And now cAitlin It's hard to imagine the pain the coopers are going through, whatever I'm feeling, it must be 100x worse.
Right now I'm simply standing in front of the mirror. Looking at myself, dressed in the brightest cloths I could find, normally, you'd wear black to a funeral, but I figured Oliver would want me to wear happy cloths. In my hand is a folded piece of paper. Written on the paper are some words. I was asked to speak at the funeral, so, yeah.
The funeral is held in the local church. Most of it I don't listen to, I zone out.
"And now, a few words from, Oliver's good friend" clap, clap, clap, clap. I walk up to the stage and start to unfold my paper, then, I stop and shove the paper in my pocket. I glance at Oliver's parents, both crying. I must look like a idiot just standing there, so I decide to talk.Hi, uh, my name is Riley dean. Um, wow, I'm not going to be able to say Much without drowning in my own tears. But I will say this, I did not know Oliver for long, but in the short time I had with him, I learnt so much and you don't meet many people that are like Oliver. I'm so lucky to have spent time with him, I am forever grateful for the little infinity that he gave me.
