Valadhiels POV

"Leggy! Come catch me!" I giggled as I ran through the gardens and up the tree. I was eight at the time, while Legolas was 9 and we had been friends since we were toddlers.

Legolas stood at the foot of the tree as he shook his head grinning. "Well I'm certainly not going  to come after you."

"And why not?" You said in your British voice.

"Because I am supposed to set a good example for you, if you must know."

I spoke once again using my British voice "ah yes! Legolas the demonstrator! How wise he is!"

He busted out laughing but soon recovered and became serious. "Come on down! Let's go get some Lembas bread!"

"You promise you won't tag me again?"

"I promise!" He put his hands up in surrender

I began to climb down as the tree branch suddenly broke. I let out a scream as my arms flailed but landed safely in Legolas's arms.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Legolas's eyes scanned with worry.

"I'm fine. Thank you for catching me Legolas." I spoke.

"I promised I would look after you did I not?" He smiled

"I'm sorry." I mumbled hugging him.

"It's okay really. Now just don't climb up there again." He scolded trying to put on his most serious and brotherly look. We ended up bursting with fits of giggles. When our laughter died down, he stood up and offered his hand. I took it gratefully as we made our way to the dining hall together.

Legolas and I had become closer that day. We made a promise that we would remain best friends. Forever.
