Jeff grabbed my hand and led me out my door and down the hall. I glanced at the clock before leaving. It was 12:30.
Jeff brought me downstairs, our bare feet squeaking against the hardwood floor. The moonlight shone in through the windows and back door. It was absolutely stunning. It was hard for some people to appreciate the beauty of certain things, like nature. I, on the other hand, couldn't keep my eyes off it.
I was lead out the back door, my eyes still fixated on the moon. My train of thought was broken when I felt the earth underneath my bare feet. It was freezing. A tingle went up my spine and I threw out a yelp. Jeff looked back and smirked at me. "What's wrong, can't take a little cold? I thought you would have gotten used to the winter weather, all that time you spent in the wilderness." I stumbled. "No, no I am. It just... I wasn't expecting.." Jeff came behind me and swept me up before I even had a chance to finish my sentence. "Don't want the princess to have to suffer," he said. "Or we could just go inside and put on shoes," I suggested. "Shoes are so mainstream though," Jeff complained. I glared at him. "Ugh, fine."
After we had put on our shoes, Jeff lead me back outside. We went through the backyard, and down an extremely long path in the woods. At the end of the path was a lake. By the lake was a bench. Jeff sat and motioned for me to join him. I gladly obliged and took a seat.
Jeff ran his fingers through my hair and looked me in the eyes. The light of the mood made his eyes and skin glow, adding on to his beautiful features. He got closer, til we were nose to nose. My heart started beating faster, my body tensed. Butterflies scurried around in my stomach. It felt like the whole world disappeared, leaving only me and Jeff. His lips puckered.
Then gently. A kiss.
Then another, longer this time, more passionate.
Then again.
My heart felt like it was about to pound right out of my chest. My mind, surrounded by so many thoughts before, went blank. All my worries were gone. I felt safe. I felt protected.
Moments went on. We had to have been kissing for at least 30 minutes. The kiss broke, and we sat in silence for what seemed like decades.
"Jeff?"
"Hmm?"
"You brought me here because you wanted to tell me the truth."
"Yes."
"...what is it?"
Jeff hesitated. "Sky... are you sure you want to know the truth?" he asked. "Yes!" I exclaimed. That's all I've been wanting is the damn truth."Sky, the truth is..... I..."
