Only Once

Chloe's pov
"Excuse me miss Beale," I turn to look at the doctor, "she's awake, she's asking for you." I get up eagerly and follow the doctor to her room.

I open the door slowly and tentatively make my way to Beca's side. "Hey," I whisper placing a hand on her shoulder, "how are you?" She sits up in her bed and looks at me, "doc says I can go back to work in a week, can you bring me my laptop and headphones so I can mix until I get released." She says. I sigh, she's so frickin stubborn, she won't even talk about what happened. "Oh and my phone I need to text Em to tell her what happened and postpone our recording." I raise my eyebrows and look at the door just to see Jesse looking through the window of it. "I'm sure her brother can pass on any messages, I'll send him in and go get your stuff." I smile sweetly at her and leave before she can protest.

Jesses pov
Chloe walks out of the room and holds the door open for me, "don't push it okay Jesse? She may be an idiot but she's still my best friend and I will hurt you if she dies or anything." I chuckle humourlessly, "got it." With that I enter the room prepared for the worst.

"Hey Beca, before you turn me away and shut me out I want you to know that if you agree to it we can forget about what happened the other night. I mean I care about you and I really like..."
"Jesse stop"
I stand there stunned. I sigh, I should've known this wouldn't work. I head to the door because I knew that's what she wanted.
"Jesse stop!" She repeats the words louder this time and she sounds like she's crying. I turn around to see the tears sliding down her cheeks. "If you tell anyone about this I will kill you, it would ruin my heartless bitch reputation." I laugh, idiot. A hint of a smile creeps onto her lips, but just as soon as it comes it goes. "Listen jess, what I did the other night was out of physical attraction, okay? I don't believe in love because..." I look at her expectantly as she stops talking, "because I just don't." I look at the floor, "so, you still owe me that moviecation you know? Plus I heard the doctors saying you need a break from work so you have free time" she sighs, "fine. The day after I get out of this hell hole we can okay? But only once" a smile creeps onto my face and I find it difficult to sit still as this buzz of excitement flys through me. "You got a deal, oh and I'll tell Ems everything that's happened." I give her a nod goodbye as I leave the room. I begin to walk down the hallway and as soon as there's no one to be seen I throw my fist into the air in victory, Breakfast club style.
