When we arrived at the flat we all clambered out of the car, Zoe smiling brightly as she hooked her hand with Alfie's. I followed Joe through the lobby and then the elevator, raising my eyebrows as he pushed his key into the lock, pressing the button next to it.
"You live in one of those apartment buildings, huh?" I remarked, laughing as he smirked at me.
"Well, of course, Marley girl. Who better than yours truly, Joe Sugg?" He chuckled and led us to his flat, unlocking the door and letting us all in. We had gotten here early, so the other guests weren't here yet.
"Hey Marley, me and Alfie are going to meet Tanya and Jim at Nando's. Do you want to stay here and help Caspar and Joe prepare for the party?" Zoe asked, pulling her scarf back on and opening the door slightly.
"Sure," I said, glancing at Joe. He nodded, saying it was okay. "Have fun! Come back soon!" I called to them as they left. Zoe waved from down the hallway and I closed the door.
"So, Joseph. Show me around!" I said, untying my old converse and kicking them off by the door before following Joe through the first level. To the left of the door was a small and comfy kitchen, complete with a breakfast bar. "This is a bit fancy for Joe Sugg, don't you think?" I joked, gazing around the beautiful room.
"That was mostly me," I heard an unfamiliar voice say from behind me. I turned to find a tall, blonde boy smiling and walking up the stairs. He was wearing a grey hoodie and a pair of black joggers. He looked absolutely stunning. "I'm Caspar, Joe's roommate." He joined us on the main floor and smiled. He was much taller than Joe, and well, me.
"Hi, Caspar. I'm Marley!" I smiled and bit my lip, my social anxiety surfacing for the first time since I came here. I'd always had an issue with meeting new people, as well as being in crowded areas. I've had panic attacks just thinking about it before. Joe knew about my anxiety, he had helped me with it a bit when I was younger.
"Fifa?" Joe asked Caspar, taking the attention off me for a bit. Caspar nodded and flopped down on the couch, picking up an Xbox controller. I laughed and took the remote out of Joe's hand.
"Excuse me, Joey, but you have a party starting in, what, an hour?" You've got to tidy the flat and you, Caspar, need to pull some clothes on. I'll cook. What are you guys thinking?" I asked, looking at the both of them. Caspar snickered at Joe's nickname and Joe shot him a look.
"Well, we've got a pizza. We probably just need sweets or something. How many people are coming??" Caspar said, checking his phone. I glanced at the text Zoe had sent me earlier naming all the people that would show.
"Uh, let's see. Troye, Tanya, Jim, Dan, Phil, and obviously, you guys." I said, putting my phone back into my back pocket and making my way to the kitchen.
"Okay. Oli is visiting his mum and dad right now so he won't be here, so that's one person not going. Just bake cookies or something. It's up to you." Caspar said, getting up and heading towards his room to get dressed. Joe headed for his room as well, tossing his phone on the counter.
I bit my lip and dug out a mixing bowl and pan from the from the cabinet under the counter. I pulled out flour, sugar, chocolate chips, eggs, and vanilla and put all the right measurements into the bowl. I was about to put scoops of the dough on the pan when Joe's phone vibrated violently. I glanced over at it and saw a text from Caspar. I furrowed my brow. Why was Caspar texting Joe?
Caspar: I didn't know your cousin would be that cute, mate.
I blushed deeply and bit my lip, turning Joe's phone back off and scooping chunks of cookie dough onto the pan and putting it in the oven. I sighed and glanced at the text again before starting to clean up the living room. The boys had left the Xbox controllers sprawled across the carpet and cups on the coffee table. Finally, Joe and Caspar came back up. Joe was wearing a nice grey top with a pair of black skinny jeans. He grabbed his phone and flopped down on the couch, taking a sip of his water. He read the text and choked on his water, spitting it out laughing.
