Filming Videos

"Marley!" Zoe's shrill voice cried as she threw her arms around me. I laughed and hugged her back, pleased to see her. We both pulled away and she sat me down on the couch, started to explain her video ideas for her channel.

"I'm so glad we could do a video together! I've been dying to do it for ages. So, we could do a makeup video, where I do yours and make you look like Beyonće or something. Or, we could do a try not to laugh challenge, but I've basically done a million. Do you have any ideas?" Zoe mused, before looking at me.

I smiled.

"Make me look like a goddess, Zoe!" I commanded playfully, raising my finger. A smile spread across her face and she walked back to her bathroom to collect her makeup.

"I thought you'd never ask," She laughed as she came back, setting a heap of makeup on the floor at our feet. The tripod and the camera were already set, and miraculously it stayed upright as Nala bustled through its legs eagerly. I giggled and let her climb onto my lap, licking my face and finally settling down. Zoe patted her on the head and hit record on the camera

"Hello, everybody! Today I am with my lovely cousin Marley!" She wrapped her arms around me and hugged me for the camera. I smiled and brushed my hair out of my face, making sure I looked at the lens and not at the picture.

Zoe continued eagerly, explaining that she would be making me into the goddess I wished to be. She also showed off Nala, saying that we had a little companion as well. I giggled at her behavior, she was always so much more excited onabout camera. 

Finally, she pulled out her makeup and carefully applied it all over my face. I wasn't allowed to look, and I didn't know if I looked like an idiot the entire time or not. 

She kept saying things to the camera, but not letting me open my eyes. So I focused myself on petting Nala to keep her from running around the house and wrecking things. 

Finally, Zoe put down the last brush and smiled.

"Okay, you can open your eyes!" She was holding a mirror in front of my face, and the person I saw was not myself. My cheekbones were raised, my lips a darker shade than usual light shade, and my skin was flawlessly covered, making me truly look like a goddess.

I realized I had my mouth open, gaping at my reflection. Zoe was smiling brightly. I looked at my own green eyes. I furrowed my brows and looked at Zoe's mascara-lined eyelashes, then back at my bare ones.

"Why didn't you put mascara on?" I asked curiously. My eyes still looked good, I was just confused. She seemed like a mascara kind of person.

"Well, your eyelashes are long and dark enough that you don't need it. Plus, they're so beautiful that I didn't want to wreck the natural look."

I snorted at her idea of a natural look but nodded. I guess my eyelashes were really nice. The eyeshadow she put on my lids brought out the gold in my eyelashes, making it look like there were stars in my eyes.

I smiled again at my look and Zoe did her outro. She shut off the camera and opened her laptop, ready to transfer the file and start editing.

"Do you want to hang here, and we can watch a movie while I edit?" Zoe asked, plugging in the USB stick.

"Yeah, sure. I'll make some hot chocolate, yeah?" I stood from the couch, and Nala raced after me, eager to follow. I opened the cabinet and took out some hot chocolate packets, Nala scratching at my heels.

Bringing the cocoa back in, I settled on the couch next to Zoe. She had gotten some blankets out and was curled up in one with her laptop resting on her lap. Nala curled up in between us as I pulled a thick blanket over my toes.

"I put Titanic in if that's alright. I haven't seen it in forever." Zoe said excitedly.

"Yeah, that's fine." I murmured, already immersed in the opening scenes of the movie.

As we watched, it seemed to take forever for Jack and Rose to realize they loved each other, but maybe that's because I already knew the story. They finally kissed, and it reminded me of Caspar and me.

I snapped to look at Zoe, who was looking at me with a bright smile.

"I can't wait for you and Caspar to start officially dating," Was all she said before she turned back to her laptop. There was a small smile displayed permanently on her lips for the duration of the movie.

I've been having a lot of writer's block. What kind of stuff do you guys want to see out of this story..? I've been getting great feedback from it but it will take a little while to update while I brainstorm! Thanks!
