Ruby Palace

"I can't wait for my son anymore, I need to get a hold on that princess. She's the key to my success, because if I have her captive, I can be the ruler of the whole kingdom." the king muttered to himself.

"Cesar!" he called the leader of his knights.

"What can I do for you, King Damon?" the guy replied.

"Search for the princess of the Emerald Kingdom, bring her to me and I shall reward you with any amount you wish for." the king said with a demonic look on his facade.

"At your service King Damon." the guy bowed to the king.

Yssa's POV

"Oh my gosh! That looks cute on you." Jess exclaimed while flipping the pages in her magazine.

We're currently at a dress shop trying on some outfits.

"Yeah, right." I rolled my eyes at her.

This is the 5th dress store that we've been and she's still full of energy.

You see, shopping isn't my thing. But even if it's against my will, I can't say 'No' to Jess. This is her happiness, girly dresses.

I'm not really fascinated with dresses because I've worn lots of it, even ball gowns when I'm still at...

Emerald Kingdom.

My chest constricted at the memory. When will I get over this?

I miss my parents. But do they miss me?

A tear rolled down my cheek but I wiped it immediately.

No, I shouldn't be thinking of them. I chose to be away...be free.

I changed to my own clothes and quickly made my way out of the fitting room.

"Hey, we're not done yet!" Jess protested.

"I have to work." I reminded her.

"Oh, I almost forgot! Let's hurry!" she exclaimed.

I nodded.

"Hey, what's wrong?" oh no, she noticed my bad mood.

"Oh, nothing Jess! Maybe I'm just tired."

"Are you sure?" she looks at me with disbelief.

I shrugged.

"Okay, I'll just pay this and I'll drop you to work." she said.

"No Jess! It's okay, I should be paying for my own dress." she put a finger in my lips hushing me.

"I'll pay. And that is final." she said firmly.

And I know that she won't hear my protests.

"Okay. Thanks Jess!" I hugged her.

"You're welcome, my dear. Besides, I know you hate shopping but you still come with me always. And that means alot to me." she said while returning my hug.

(Sweety's Ice Cream Haus)

"Bye Yssa!" Jess waved at me from her car.

"Bye Jess!" I smiled at her.

I watched her car disappear in the highway before I entered the establishment.

Yes, I have a part time job. As a waitress. Because in this town, I have to work for my living.

And voila!

Here I am at Sweety's Ice Cream Haus, serving the customers. I've been doing this since the school year started and I really love this job.

But I'm not really broke. I have money saved in the bank, but I don't want to use it every time.

The money came from the ball gowns I sold when I first got here. Yes, I sold my own clothes so that I can start living this life I have now.

I was busy taking orders when someone poked my shoulders. I turned sideways but I saw no one. I've heard the little kids giggle from the other table.

I looked at them and I saw them pointing at my back. And it surprised me.

A really cute guy with green orbs stares at me.

"Shaun?"

"Hi Yssa!" he smiled at me revealing his perfect set of pearly whites.

Gosh! Why is he so perfect?
