(PROM Night)
Yssa's POV
"Is that Yssa from English class?"
"Yes, she's very pretty without those glasses."
"I know right, she looks like a princess."
I heard students murmuring things about me.
I hate attention.
My hands felt clammy as I take in their stares and comments.
"You're so pretty Yssa!"
"Wow Yssa, just wow!"
I'm suddenly feeling claustrophobic.
I just want to see my friends tonight.
I didn't know that going out without glasses is too mainstream.
I just smiled at the people who were talking to me because I'm not really good at socializing.
"Hi Yssa! That outfit is just fabulous!" I think she's from the cheer squad.
"Uh, thanks!" I smiled.
"Hey Yssa!" someone called.
Uh-oh! Stacey alert!
"H-hi?" I stammer again.
Stacey smiled at me.
"Sorry for bullying you in the past. I've learned my lesson. I really am sorry Yssa." she said in a shy tone.
And I believe in her, I can see the sincerity in her eyes.
"It's okay. Don't worry about it." I smiled at her.
I'm not someone who hold grudges.
"Really? Thank you. I promise not to do it again." she squealed.
"And I think you and Shaun are perfect for each other." she winked at me.
"What?" I felt my face burning up.
She just giggled.
"Bye Yssa!" she waved at me.
"Bye Stacey!" I smiled at her.

Nathan's POV
I saw Yssa surrounded by the cheerleaders so I hurried to reach her place.
"And I think you and Shaun are perfect for each other." I heard Stacey talking.
"What?" Yssa's face was flushed red.
I smiled bitterly.
I think it's time to let go of my feelings for her.
She's in love with Shaun.
"Nathan?" Yssa run to me when she saw me standing near her.
She look stunning tonight. I can't help but stare.
"Nathan?" she poked me in the forehead when I didn't respond.
"Oh Yssa. Sorry." I said then she giggled.
"You look beautiful tonight."
She grinned. "Thanks Nate!"
"Dance?" I asked.
"Sure!" then she happily grabbed my hand and dragged me to the dancefloor.
"I love you Yssa that's why I want you to be happy." I mumbled.
"Are you saying something Nate?" she asked.
"Nothing."
"You know Nate, I'm happy that you're my first dance." she breathed in my ear.
"Really?"
I didn't know that I was her first dance.
"Yes, you're the first guy I met in this school, first guy friend and now my first dance." she counted with her fingers before returning her hands on top of my shoulder and then smiled at me.
She's such a kid.
"That's a lot of firsts." I joked.
She giggled.
If only we can stay like this forever.

gracia's note:
Aww, Nathan. Why didn't you try confessing?
I love Nathan. I don't wanna see him like this.
He's just a friend. Nothing more, nothing less.
Huhu! :(
