_____________

It had been two days since we got here in Denver. When we had arrived, it was pretty cold since it was the beginning of winter. The house mom had bought was a spacious two-story house with three bedrooms and three bathrooms painted with white and grey colour. The floor had white marble tiles and the furniture inside was wooden. It also had a two-car garage attached on the side and an attractive porch with a roof out front.

I had decorated my new room with my stuffs yesterday. I had hired somebody to paint the walls blue while the minor details of the room were painted with white. I'd used blue bed sheets and white pillows for my white bed so that it would match my room colour. I'd put a white little table beside my bed and a white closet across it. The dark blue curtain on my window complimented the room. A shelf was placed on the left corner of my room since I was fond of reading books. Although this was nothing compared to the room I had before, I felt pretty satisfied with what I had here.

Miles and I agreed to call and text each other frequently. We decided to have a chat on Skype during weekends. I knew that things wouldn’t be so easy without my best friend, but at least we could still get in touch now and then.

Mom had already enrolled me to a science school. It was her choice because she wanted me to get a lot of credits. She said I would be pressured a bit but it would help me for college. God, I hated being pressured, especially on my studies.

Tomorrow would be my first day of school as a junior student here. I was quite nervous and I didn't know if students here would like me but I was hoping for the best that could happen.

I woke up at six thirty in the morning to prepare for school since mom said my schedule would begin at eight. As soon as I was done taking my shower and brushing my teeth, I went to my closet to find something to wear. I grabbed a pair of black skinny jeans, a white blouse and a gray cardigan to keep me warm. I got my pair of black boots from my shoe rack and looked at myself in the mirror. After brushing my long wavy hair, I headed downstairs.

"Morning, mom," I greeted and smiled.

"Good morning darling. You're early today. Too excited?" she asked as she put the breakfast on the table for me. I sighed heavily as I got a pancake from the plate.

"No, I’m just really, really nervous," I replied then took a sip of my milk.

"You don't have to be. People will like you, trust me. Do you want me to drive you?"

"No, I'm fine going there all by myself. Besides, you still have to work early. You'd be late if you go to school with me."

"I don't mind being late Sav, you know nobody's going to scold me," she smirked then continued, "You sure with that? You said you are nervous."
