Emma's pov
"Hey Em! How was your first week of school?" Calum was jogging towards me with a piece of pizza, which I took and stole a bite of once he reached me.
"Eh, it was pretty boring, where did you get this? It's surprisingly decent" I asked while chewing off another bite before Calum took it back and glared at me.
"Luke gave it to me, he said his mom made it from scratch! Speaking of Luke, he should be here soon so we can go over to my house, wanna come?" I didn't really want to go home because I knew that I would have nothing to do so I quickly decided to hang out with them.
"Sure, I'll just have to text my dad quickly and tell him that he doesn't have to pick me up. I don't think Corey minds taking the bus for one day" I brought out my phone and typed my dad a message and got a reply right away saying he was fine with it. Once Luke arrived we started walking to Calum's house, he lived really close to the school so it wasn't a long walk.
"My parents aren't home, so just make yourselves comfy in the basement. I'm going to quickly change and then I'll bring down some snacks for us" Luke and I both nodded our heads and made our way downstairs.
"Wow, this place is pretty nice" Luke sighed while looking around the big room filled with gaming systems, a pool table, and classic records. Calum's dad took pride in his den, that's where Calum and him spent most of their time.
"Yeah, they haven't changed this room since we were twelve. " I laughed while I watched him fiddle his lip ring with his tongue.
"You guys must be pretty good friends, I mean, your not uh, dating. Are you?" He questioned while looking at some of the records that were hung to see. Just the thought of Calum and I dating weirded me out
"Hahahaha no, god no. That would never happen, we have known each other too long and plus he is my best friend. I'd much rather have a good friendship then a good relationship" I finished just as Calum entered the room with two bags of classic chips and a few pops. Thank goodness he didn't ask what we were talking about. As I reached for a root beer my hand brushed against Luke's, he pulled his hand back and started caressing it like I slapped it.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to-" He murmured just as Calum cut him off
"WHO WANTS TO PLAY FIFAAAAA" he yelled as he jumped over the couch and landed in his favourite spot. Luke took the other end of the couch so I was awkwardly left with the middle of the couch.
I sat there and watched them play Fifa for around two hours which was more entertaining then it sounded because they are both really competitive. Luke's phone suddenly rang and he dug in his tight pants to pull it out, and answered.
"Hello? Hey mom. What happened this time? Are you serious!? Fine whatever, I'll be there as soon as I can, okay, bye."
I could tell from the tone of his voice that it wasn't good. He stood up fast and said with a straight face that he has to go because something came up."Sure man, don't forget your 'sleeping over' tomorrow so that we can go to that party" Calum said right as Luke was walking towards the stairs. What party? I was never invited to a party. Not that I want to go, I just wondered why I wasn't invited. Luke nodded and rushed up the stairs, shortly after we heard the door slam.
"What party, why wasn't I invited?" I crossed my arms and jokingly glared at Calum.
"You weren't invited because you never go to parties. You would rather stay home and read or do homework, or help with the diner I dunno" he shrugged while reaching in the bag of chips to grab a handful.
"Well maybe, I want to go! Get drunk like every other kid my age" I said jokingly.
"You? Go to a party? Haha that's the funniest thing I've heard all year!" He was now laying on the couch looking at me while slapping his knee pretending that he was laughing.
"You don't believe me? Fine I'll meet you and Luke here tomorrow, I'll tell my parents I'm sleeping at Liz's house" I didn't want to go, but I wanted to prove to Calum that I wasn't a stuck up prude who never had any fun. He told me what time to be at his house and then I made my way home, with all the intent by this time tomorrow, to be at a party.
"I called the taxi and it should be here soon" Calum said as he entered the room. I was really nervous for the party, one reason being I've never been drunk before and another reason being Luke looked really hot. He was wearing a red hot chilli peppers shirt and his ripped black skinny jeans. The taxi arrived and then we drove to the house in an awkward silence until Calum broke it with his loud voice.
"Are you ready to get drunk for the first time Emma? I'll give you some tips, tip numero uno, stay with us and only drink drinks you poured. Tip numero dos, don't fuck random guys-" I didn't want to hear anymore of these 'tips' because they were more of common sense then tips.
"Wow thanks such great tips you have there Cal, I think I can figure it out myself thanks" I rolled my eyes at him who was looking at me with a huge smile on his face. I was already done with this party and we haven't even walked through the the front door yet.
As soon as we entered the house, the smell of weed and alcohol invaded my nose and made me feel kind of queasy. The three of us made our way to the kitchen through the obstacle of people and Calum poured us each a few shots.
"Here is to a good night with friends" Luke smiled while raising his first two shots as Calum and I did the same. A few drinks later and I already could feel the alcohol taking an effect on my once clean system. The drinks tasted terrible and left a weird aftertaste in my mouth but I wanted to prove to them that I was fun. We left the kitchen to dance for a little but soon came back and had more drinks. I didn't like the feeling of being drunk, I was tripping all over the place and stuttering my words quite a bit. But Luke and Calum were enjoying themselves so I pretended to do the same.
"Hey babe wanna dance?" I look up surprised to see someone I didn't recognize. It was probably because I was drunk that I agreed and followed him into the other room where lots of people were dancing. We didn't dance for very long when he asked me if I wanted to go upstairs with him. I don't remember agreeing but I do remember him pulling me by my wrist which kind of hurt.
"Let go! I like to dance, you know break a sweat, seriously LET GO!" I complained as he was pulling me to the direction of the stairs.
"Don't worry, I'll make you sweat babe" he winked at me and I was disgusted with myself. I tried to yank my arm away and turn around but I felt my arm jerk and then it was let go. I turn back around to see the guy on the floor and Luke holding his hand in pain.
