Crystal's p.o.v-

"I don't know about this. I don't want to hurt you." I circled Andy in the boxing ring of an abandoned gym that Alaric had been using for years.

"Crystal, you won't hurt me." He winked at me and it caused Alaric and Ace to burst out in laughter.

"You guys know I don't trust myself."

It had been about two weeks since I was reunited with Andy and I was informed that it would be about a year before my strength weaned itself down a bit. But Andy hadn't been a vampire for that long either so he was still pretty strong too, I'm sure.

"He is." Alaric answered me before Andy got the chance.

"Y'ALL have to stop with this mind reading s*hit. It's getting old now...." I growled.

"Piss her off. I think it will give her more motivation." Ace chuckled, causing me to give him a warning look over my shoulder.

Big mistake.

Before I knew what hit me, Andy was picking me up, and flipping me over his shoulder.

I landed back down on the mat behind him. But in a matter of seconds I was on my feet again.

"Oh ok. So you want to play dirty Huh?" I growled and he turned around, pretending to look at his nails, not bothered by my sudden outburst.

"You should never have your back turned. Not even for a split second. You need to always make sure every single one of your senses is alert. That was stupid." His mocking eyes met mine.

"Oh shit Andy... That might not have been a good idea." Ace said quietly.

"No. It wasn't." I snarled before sprinting forward to grab him but he stepped aside and I hit the the side of the ring, bouncing back but I remained on my feet.

Once again we were facing each other and he was just grinning at me. Standing there looking completely relaxed.

"Come on baby. F*uck me up." He challenged, showing off his beautiful teeth. They were whiter than I remembered. I felt a sudden pang in my gut and I groaned.

"Frustrated?" He asked smugly.

"We are going to step outside before this gets too awkward." Alaric muttered but I barely heard him. The back doors slammed and I knew they weren't in the building anymore.

"As a matter of fact-" I lunged at Andy again but he easily side stepped me and again I was stumbling forward.

"Just because you are fast and strong doesn't mean you know how to properly tap into your heightened senses. You have to be able to stop letting your emotions get in the way. Stop letting them control you."

I looked at him skeptically. "Then why are you trying to anger me? That makes no sense to me whatsoever." I growled once again, getting ready to attack.

"Blind rage is one thing, anger is different. It can fuel you. Sometimes you have to get angry. Sometimes you have to get so pissed off-" He stepped closer and I swallowed, backing up a bit. "That you wouldn't give a second thought about killing someone or something you just do it. I know how badly killing those people affected you but you can't let it anymore. This is a war. There are going to be casualties, do you understand. Weakness is not an option."

Ok. Andy was full on tough guy now. I barely recognized him talking and acting like this.

"I have to. I can't lose you. I need you to be strong. Just because you are a vampire now, it doesn't mean you are invincible. I need you to be able defend yourself."
