Crystal's p.o.v-

Alaric had explained to us that this was normal.

Earthquake producing s*ex? Like literal earthquakes. Haha. Yeah I know. But he said that my emotions were still unstable. I wasn't aware until then that I was prophesied to be a very powerful queen and vampire.

What had happened to my life? I missed Asher so d*amn bad I could barely handle it. And when I would cry, I was told to drink whiskey to keep my emotions at bay. Whiskey? Really.

That was Aces advice. He told me it helped him a lot in the early years. I guessed that I'd have to let it grow on me.

But I was starting to get used to this blood in a cup thing. Of course I craved it, being a vampire.

Vampire. I laughed out loud while sitting at the kitchen table, drinking my 'cup o blood.'

No matter how many times I said it, I was almost absolutely positive I'd find it funny every single time. Id never get used to it. I literally felt like I was living in some sort of alternate reality.

In that moment I heard the mailman opening our mailbox and putting in our mail.

Slowly finishing off the rest of the blood, I then got up from my chair and headed to get it.

Andy, Ace and Alaric had run a quick errand to talk to a witch. Yeah a witch. Again I laughed out loud. They wanted to get things to protect and reinforce the house. Alaric- my father had supposedly known this witch for centuries.

D*amn. Who seriously would have thought. I mean I always believed in beings like us and them but I never in a BAZILLION years would have thought I'd be stuck in the middle of all of it.

But then again, who would?

As I opened the mailbox and pulled out a stack of letters.... Slacking much...This obviously wasn't all from today, I felt a shiver travel up my spine into the back of my neck.

I Immediately started spinning. Scanning my surroundings. I was going to have to practice focusing in on one particular thing because it was overwhelming to be able to hear so much, so clearly.

It was daylight but I knew that didn't mean I couldn't be in danger.

Crystal.

I whipped my head around to look behind me but no one was there. If any of our neighbors were watching, I must have looked insane.

Crystal.

"What the f*uck!?"

You can't trust him.

At that moment a gust of wind knocked a piece of mail out of my hands.

Being careful not to move to fast I snatched it from the ground.

Do NOT trust him.

"Who the f*uck-"

I turned the envelope over in my hand as red writing began to appear on the front.

In cursive it read, 'Crystal- Open Me.'

I looked around me frantically, before tearing the envelope open. A ring fell out of it and I grabbed it before it hit the ground.

It was a simple gold band with vine like engravings and an oval shaped black stone in the middle.

I'm watching after you my queen. I will not let any harm come to you. You cannot trust him. He is a traitor and he will try to kill you. He is not who he seems.
