Chapter 7 - Pain

Damien's P.O.V.

The man came up to us and suddenly hit Clary. I was so angry that I ran up behind him and started beating on him. "Hey Dickhead." I said while still hitting him. He turned around and started returning the blows. He got one right on my nose and I could feel the blood running from my nose. 

I was slowly losing my fight as he hit me in the gut. I fell to the ground and tried to defend myself as much as I could but was failing. Suddenly a loud gunshot came from somewhere behind Clary and I heard the voice saying something but I was too battered to make it out. Whatever the voice said made the man run and I heard footsteps. 

The world suddenly went black. The throbbing pain started to melt away as I fell into unconsciousness...
