Well, there's always this one person in your life that will be there forever. Maybe not in your life forever, but in your mind. They aren't you 'One', or maybe they are. But for most, we don't have that luxury. There's this person that was your first everything, and that person will always remain in your life, as something you fall back on. As a reminder of how dumb you were.
Or as a reminder of the one that got away. Most likely, they will be there as the person who let you experiment, enjoy, and learn. They will forever and always man something to you even if for the rest of your life, you never see them again.
Some of these people probably don't have names to their faces.
But sadly, mine does.
It wasn't long lasting and it wasn't emotion filled. It was fucked up to say the least. Some people think I'm not over it, huh, yeah I am.
I think.
But that's not important.
"Yeah, we can hang, I'm at my friends house though, you wanna come?" Oliver said, as always, I could hear the smile on his face.
Looking over at my friends, Lola and Harry, i sighed. We were in my car with nothing to do and nowhere to go. It was my brilliant idea to hit up Oliver and see if we can make the night just that more interesting.
"Yeah, totally, just give me the address." I said.
"I text it, see you."
And he was off the other end. I opened the text message and linked the address to my Google Maps. It showed me that we'll be there in approximately ten minutes.
"Okay, so, Harry, you've met Oliver before." I said as I turned the key in the ignition. "But Lola, you haven't. He's really cool. I met him at work."
"Alright," she smiled. She tended to not speak much.
"What are we gonna do?" Harry asked.
I started to drive down Milwaukee, following my navigation. There were just a few cars on the streets passing us. The air was a nice summer breeze, typical Chicago weather. I had my windows rolled down with Calvin Harris playing softly on the radio.
"Probably watch a movie, I don't know." I said. "But he's at a friends' house, he said they are cool so we will be good."
Once we got there, I noticed the neighborhood wasn't promising. There were homes and apartment blocks on either side of us on the street we were driving on. It was dark, the street lights were failing. I could hear some yelling coming from down the street.
Quickly, I dialed up Oliver's number.
"Yo Lee, where you at?" typical.
"I believe I'm here, but I feel like I'm about to get killed."
There was a pause and then he spoke up. "I see you, okay, just drive to the end and take a left. There will be a sort of alley you can park in."
"Sort of alley?" I questioned.
"Yeah, I'm coming down."
I put the phone in my lap and passed the parked cars next to me, taking a left at the end of the road. There was an alley, sort of. It was between an apartment block and a school. Next to us was probably a high school, we were by the field they had fenced in. Some teens were around this alley, but on the opposite end, just chatting amongst themselves, smoking up.
Putting the car into park, I felt my heart race as I started to sweat. I smiled at Lola and Harry, making them feel safe.
"We are gonna die." Harry proclaimed.
