I had always had this odd, nagging feeling. My subconscious not sounding like mine at times. Knowing about things I had absolutely no idea about. The Voice, as I called it, was back. It was a smooth, yet commanding voice. Like a teenager who had been a leader all his life.

'Hit it in the nose. Hard and fast.' The Voice said.

'How do I do that? If you haven't noticed, I don't have any arms under my control right now.' I answered back.

'Use your head.' It replied simply.

'How does thinking get me... Oh. You meant that literally.' I said. I reared back my head and slammed my forehead against the demon's nose. It yelled out and dropped me. I was freefalling! The Voice once again put in its logic.

'Fly, you idiot! Fly or you die!' It said.

'And how do I fly? Do I just flap my arms and say up?' I said sarcastically. The ground neared.

'Think of yourself floating down gently.' It said, not being gentle with his tone.

'Ok, ok. I'll try.' I said. Focusing, I retreated into my mind. A few more seconds and I'm dead. 'Float. Float....' I thought. I felt the wind around me slow, and my feet lightly touched the ground. 'Hey! It worked!' I thought, losing my focus and falling on my butt. I got up and dusted myself off. Kendra yelled in triumph. She forced the river to swell up over the side of the banks. The wall of water swallowed a zombie. I saw the zombie being torn apart by the water. The zombie dust particles were swept away. Kendra sighed, wiped the sweat from her brow, and smiled at me. Her teeth shined in the pale moonlight. I was jerked back to reality by The Voice.

'Stop mooning over her and turn around. The demon is getting up.' It said.

'Oh, blah blah blah. Give me a break.' I said.

'You know I can hear you. I'm in your MIND. I can hear your every thought.' It told me.

'Whoops.' I turned around just as the demon groaned. Blood squirted me from behind. "Ahh!" It was hot and sticky. Faolan, all bloody and vicious, landed next to me, still half- morphed. He spat out white flesh.

"Maggots are sick, nasty creatures." He stated simply. Kendra yelled to us.

"Run! Come to the river!" I saw what she was doing. She wanted the demon to think we were escaping and provoke him to come over to the river, where she could be stronger and help us.

"Let's go." I told Faolan and then I jumped up into the air. I felt myself go almost weightless, and then saw golden light spread through the graveyard. I flew way up above the river. I would attack from above. Faolan ran over to the river and faced the demon, who was just standing. I noticed a buildup of water right before the graveyard. Kendra. She was holding back the water for a giant wave! The demon bellowed.

"I WILL KILL YOU ALL!!!!" It yelled at us. It ran at us full force and raised a fist to pound us all into the ground.

"Raise your hand and make it like you are throwing a spear." The voice told me.

"Ok?" I answered back. I raised my hand up and brought it back, just like the guys do in movies. All the sudden, there's a crack like thunder. Have you ever stuck your finger near an electrical outlet? If so, you might have been shocked. Or like I did when I was little, brought out the plug a little and grabbed the metal. It was like being shocked while your finger was vibrating. Well, that's what this felt like. I threw whatever was in my hands towards the demon. A bolt of lightning shot out and hit the demon in the face. The blast flipped him over and he landed. Kendra looked up and seemed surprised. "Get him!" I yelled. I flew down and dive-bombed him. Faolan and his pack of wolves swarmed him and bit chunks out of his legs and arms. Kendra released the water and raised it. We all backed away. Up and up she raised the water. It was a giant water pillar. Then she yelled and the water curved and it turned into a giant spear of water. A few yards away from impaling the demon, a giant disturbance blew open the spear. Water splattered across my face. The fog massed into a wall around the demon and then totally disappeared. On top of the demon stood a lone figure. Dressed in all black, he stood. No one made a sound. A cold wind blew his cloak. It pulled out a short, black sword. It was The Raven. He stepped off the demon. He touched its forehead and the demon groaned. Then all the light in the clearing disappeared and then came back. The demon was gone. But The Raven still stood there.

"I will not kill you today. You are not worth the effort. But," He paused, "if you ever meet me again, you will die." He started to walk off towards the forest. He stopped, and then turned back towards us. "I'll leave you a good bye present." He made an odd clicking/screeching sound and then flipped his cloak. He disappeared with it.

"What was that about?" I asked.

"I don't know, but I have a bad feeling about it. Let's go." Kendra said as she started parting the water. It rose on the right side. Water started to flow over the top, forming a tunnel. I flew over and Faolan and his pack ran all the way through. I was halfway over the river when Kendra yelled.

"HELP!!!" She yelled. I looked back and saw dark figures swarming towards her. There were about twenty of them. I turned around and flew as fast as I could back towards her. I shot a beam of light at one of the figures and watched as horror happened. The light illuminated the figures. It was those giant spiders that had been down the middle path. The light bounced off the skin. Also, I saw skeletal hands burst out of the ground again.

'They are coming back?!?!' I thought. I was almost to Kendra. But the spiders were faster and closer. I yelled out to Kendra. "Make a wall of water in front of them!" She dropped the tunnel and made the wall. The spiders hesitated before plowing through the water wall. That was just enough. I swooped down and grabbed Kendra by her waist and flew up, narrowly avoiding the sharp fangs. I flew way up into the sky, and then flew across the river. Faolan and his pack of wolves were waiting. Faolan went full human.

"What happened? We lost two wolves when the tunnel collapsed." Faolan questioned. I filled him in and he nodded.

"That call that The Raven used, it was to call monsters. We need to go before more monsters try to kill us." He said.

"Where to now?" I asked. Faolan looked at Kendra.

"We are close to the Earth clan. We can get there by noon if we leave at sunrise. But right now I say we find a protected place to rest. I'm worn out." She answered. Faolan nodded. We hiked for about twenty minutes until we found a small grove of trees. We settled down and rested until the first rosy fingers of dawn creped over the hills to the south. But we were in for a nasty surprise.
