We all looked up. A girl, maybe 15, was cloaked in silver robes. They swirled around her as she floated in mid air. She pointed a single finger at the shaman and pure silver light shot out. It hit the shaman and she hissed. Smoke lifted off of her skin as she burst into flames. The shaman wailed and then fell over, charred. The girl's eyes turned pure silver. The whole eye. Not just the colored part. Her hands glowed silver and a bright beam shot out. She hit all the Naga's and the same thing that happened to the shaman happened to them. Soon we were alone with the moon lady. She floated down slowly and landed. Her eyes turned to normal and she slowly sat on the sand. She sighed. We all just stared at her. Finally, Chase broke the silence.
"Thank you. Thank you so much for helping us." He said. Was it just me or did he blush? Kendra just stared. I looked at her and she mouthed to me 'tell you later.' I nodded.
"Yes. Much thanks. We probably wouldn't have won without your help." I said. "By the way, what is your name?" She smiled at me. Her teeth were just as white as her skin. Which is to say, very white. Her long, dark hair fell in curls down to her waist.
"I am Luna." She said. I nodded.
"I am Lucas. This is Chase." I said, pointing to him. "Faolan." I pointed to him. He bowed.
"Lady Luna, you are the source of my great powers. Thank you. You have my eternal gratitude." Faolan said. Chase shot him an odd look. Oh, jealousy. Exactly what we needed. I pointed at Kendra last.
"This is Kendra." Luna's face darkened. I backed up as Kendra stepped forward, fire burning in her eyes.
"You!" They said simultaneously. Uh-oh. Cat fight. I can sense it. I stepped between them.
"Come on girls. Settle down. Let's settle down for the night. We are all tired so let's wait till morning to fight." I said. Chase stepped in.
"We can probably stay the night at my city, but I don't know if Faolan can go in, you know, since he's a werewolf." Chase said. We all thought for a moment.
"How about we tell them you aren't a werewolf?" Kendra said. We all agreed. It was a good idea. We set up a plan. I and Luna could fly up. Chase and Kendra had belts already. I gave Faolan my belt. We all took off. I looked at the forest below. Trees were pulled down and the undergrowth was trampled. I looked at the City. A few houses were on fire. Some trees were just gone. Most were intact, though. We landed on the big house. Several other Wolf clan members welcomed us. We collapsed on the soft beds and I fell into a deep sleep.
I stood at the edge of a deep chasm. I took a rock and dropped it off the side. I listened. No sound came back. I peeked over it again. A voice behind me startled me. It was The Raven! He was speaking into the chasm.
"Come. Come out and wreak havoc on this land. The Raven commands it!" He yelled. The sound echoed off the walls of the chasm. A whisper came back. 'As you command.....we will destroy this world like nothing ever has. You must drop the chain for us to do your will.' It said. Beside the Raven sat a huge coil of chain. It was pure black. He kicked it and it started unraveling. Down it went. More followed. It seemed endless. Soon, it stopped. I looked back over the edge. It was complete blackness down there. All the sudden, the rock I threw over shot back up like a rocket. It went into the sky and disappeared. It didn't come back down. I looked at the chain. It had been fairly warm but then all the warmth was sucked out of my body. A chill spread across me. I shuddered. I saw the first thing come out of the dark. It was a man like figure, only it floated instead of having legs. It was partially see through, yet it was a solid, wispy purple color. The word popped into my head.
'Wraith....' I thought. The next things to come out of the pit were more wraiths. After them came a grey figure. It looked like a normal person except it was grey. Several more followed. 'Phantoms....' A phantom and wraith got into a fight over......something. The wraith moved to grab the phantom but the phantom snapped. Its face expanded into a giant mouth with fangs. Its arms turned to tentacles of shadows. It expanded to 3 times the size it was before. The Raven quickly barked out in a foreign language and they immediately stopped. 'Ok. Phantoms. Much scarier than wraiths.' The next creatures to come up were little green men. 'Goblins.' They carried wicked knives and climbed up the rope very fast. Next were little purple people. They looked like the goblins except them had long claws and no knives and they had wings. They moved very fast too. Their eyes were soulless pits. 'Imps.'
Next were ladies. They were in their late teens and were stunningly pretty.....till I saw their legs. One was a donkey hoof and the other was bronze. They bared sharp fangs. 'Empousa.' Next came a hairy creature. It was manlike but with dirty orange, brown, and black hair. Everywhere. There were very few of them. 'Banshee's.' I thought. Next came muscular men with long, black hair. They had a dangerous air about them. 'Genie's and Djinn's.' I thought. 'How do I know this stuff?' Out came gargoyles. Except they were the size of buses. There were several dozen of them. Next were little fairies. Except they were dark. Instead of bright colors they were wreathed in darkness. 'Sprite's.' There were tons of them. Next came bleached white skeletons. They shambled up the chain and joined the army. Next came shambling zombies. Then ghosts. Then shades. Shades were people but they were.....different. Not too many of them. Then came orcs. They were giant green men and women who had tusks and looked really strong. Then a few people made of shadows joined in. More and more kept coming up. Even a tribe of elves came. 'Blood elves.' A few mummies. Even an old, wrinkled man came up. He had a wooded nail sticking out of his neck. 'A revenant.' Then came a few witches and warlocks. And then came a couple of giants. 'Ogre's.' I thought. Lastly came demons. All different colors and sizes. Some had fins. Others had wings. Some were blue. Some were green. Others were purple. Some had claws. Others had hooves. All kinds of them. More kept on coming. Finally, the Raven looked right at me. He smiled and said, "Good luck." Then he laughed. It was a deep, booming, evil laugh that chilled me straight to the core. Well, the core of my core. I screamed as the monsters swarmed around me, reaching and grabbing.
"Lucas!" Kendra yelled. "Lucas, wake up!" His skin on his throat started to smoke. "Lucas!" She yelled. He kept screaming. She knew what she had to do. She leaned over him.....and kissed him. On the lips. His eyes flew open and he jerked away, falling to the floor. He grabbed his neck and whimpered. The skin stopped smoking and he was left with a blue handprint, wrapped around his neck.
