I stood there, like an idiot. I looked over for Faolan. He was sprawled out on the ground, unconscious. The deer had hit him with his hooves. Faolan had torn a chunk of meat out of its haunch. I looked back to the mysterious guy.

"Who are you?" He asked. For a blond guy, he had an unusually deep voice.

"I-I'm Lucas. Who are you?" I stammered.

"Chase. Expert hunter of the Wolf clan. What were you doing hunting my deer?" He asked.

"YOUR deer? We didn't know that." I said. He lowered his bow.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Hunting. We just escaped the Deadwoods. We are making our way to the main city." I said. Faolan groaned. "That's Faolan." Chase got a wild look in his eyes and swung his bow towards him. He pulled back the arrow and went to release in. I shot a beam of light towards it. It knocked it off course and the arrow missed Faolan by mere inches.

"What's wrong with you?!?!" Chase roared. "That thing is the Prince of the Wolves! He deserves an arrow in his chest!"

"Whoa whoa whoa! He is the good guy. He's on our side. Besides, you are the WOLF clan, right? Don't you worship wolves or something?" I said.

Chase answered me. "No. We HUNT the wolves." He said.

"WHAT?" I said.

"Yes. And YOU are the cause of my clan's problems! YOU caused the monsters to attack the village. YOU are coming with me." Lightning fast, he was behind me and had my hands tied up.

'You know, he is right. You did cause the monsters to swarm.' The Voice put in helpfully.

'Shut up.' I snapped back at it.

"What about Faolan?" I asked aloud. Chase tightened the ropes around my wrists. "Oww! Not so tight!"

"He will be left here to bleed out." He whipped out a knife. He walked over to Faolan and stabbed his leg. He cried out but Chase kicked him in the head and Faolan stopped moving and making noise.

"You are a monster!" I yelled. He rolled his eyes and grabbed the ropes on my wrist and jerked on them painfully.

"Come on. We have a long hike ahead of us." He said and then pushed me forward.

We walked for about an hour back towards the Deadwoods. We walked right through the clearing our trio had camped in last night and went towards the Territory River. We hit the edge of the river and stopped.

"Where is your village?" I asked. In a steely voice he answered.

"Turn around and look into the trees." I did. I gasped.

"It's amazing." I said.
