Ash and I went back to back. I was facing the shore where we started. Ash was facing the other way.

"I got an idea. If you can distract the phoenix, then I can take out the elementals and then help defeat the phoenix." I said to Ash.

"Ok. Hurry though. I'm not fireproof." He said.

'Fireproof...' That sparked something inside of me. It was like when I had fought the Naga shaman. This deep, new powerful energy welled up inside of me. Ash lifted off and flew away to distract the phoenix. I floated. I raised a hand towards the river and then did a water bending move. I whipped my hand around and the water rose out of the stream. It followed my hands and did whatever I needed it to. I swirled my hands around. I was gathering more and more water. It seemed to be coming out of thin air. The elementals were getting closer. I was at least ten feet in the air now. I yelled and slashed my hand across the air. The water followed and the elementals it hit dissolved. More appeared and I slashed and slashed. Soon all the water was gone. I dove down, heading straight into the lava men. As I went through them, a new power emerged. Wind blew out of my fingertips and the lava hardened. I blasted out wind at the other lava men and they hardened. Soon, I was surrounded by lava statues. I turned to the phoenix. I blasted towards it, the wind pushing me along. I stopped suddenly, ten feet away from the giant fire bird. I pushed all the wind that had been pushing me towards the phoenix. The wind gushed over the phoenix and blew the flames out. I took the water and splashed the phoenix. Ash shot the ash bolts at it, too. Soon we had it pinned. I went for the kill stroke. I raised my hand, wind and water at my fingertips and strike the phoenix. The phoenix begins to spiral down into the lava. I take a breath and strike out my hand below the phoenix. Wind gushes out and hardens the lava below the phoenix. The phoenix begins to dissolve in multicolored light as we land.

"Grab the feathers!" Ash yells. I reach into the light but only grab one feather because it felt like electricity sparking up and down my hand. The phoenix was now a pile of golden ash. I turned to Ash. He had one feather too.

"Why do we need feathers?" I asked him.

"Phoenix feathers are one of the most powerful weapons in the world. The only things that can match phoenix feathers are dragon scales, teeth, or claw, and unicorn horns. To get a phoenix feather is very rare because that means you beat a phoenix, which is very hard." He said. "Also, blow the ashes into the lava."

"Why?" I asked.

"If you don't, the phoenix will reform. And I will leave you." He said jokingly. I put out my hand and instead of wind, I got a beam of light. I quickly turned it off.

'Voice, how do I do the wind? I can't seem to do it again.' I thought.

'Just try and see the air currents and vision them moving. Easy.' The Voice said. I did what it said and it worked.

'Thanks.' I said. I felt a tingle go down my spine. All the sudden, I heard Ash collapse. I turned around to see and army of what looked like seals mixed with Doberman Pincher with a hint of human.

'Selkies.....' The Voice said. The lead one was huge. It spoke.

"This one has the light in him." It said to the others. "He will burn, but not easily. Drag him in!" They swarmed up around me and took my weapons. I struggled. They held me above the lake. "Drop him in!" The lead one commanded. I was dropped in and then held under. At first the lava was soothing and cool. But after a little, the lava started to hurt. I struggled to get up. They let my head break the surface. My clothes started to burn. I deep, scream was building within my body. The ancient feeling was back. I couldn't withhold the scream. The loudest scream I had ever heard came out of my mouth. I was blasted a hundred feet in the air. Then everything went black as I hit the newly formed earth.
