Memory 6: Chūnin Exams Part 1: Age 12

Present TenTen's POV

"Gai-Sensei will you treat us to ramen after? Sakura-Chan might be there!" Rock Lee asked. "Give up Lee-Kun she likes Sasuke-Kun," TenTen said crossing her arms and prepared her weapons and scrolls in her cotton Shinobi bag along with a huge scroll tied to her back.

"And Naruto-Kun likes her," Neji said. He packed nothing since he mostly used Ninjutsu. Just a few Shuriken and Kunai Knives in his bag. "Pfff. Just because Naruto-Kun beat me once doesn't mean that he'll have Sakura-Chan!" Rock Lee said sounding determined. "You only sparred once," Neji said and put on his forehead protector,

"I agree with Neji-Kun. Just give up on Sakura-Chan," I said and tied my hair into two buns then put on my black sandals. "No! So today after the Chūnin Exams, I'm going to express my love to her through Icha Icha paradise that Kakashi-Sensei taught me about," Rock Lee said wrapping his bandages on his wrist and palm.

"You read Icha Icha?!" Neji and TenTen asked at the same time. Rock Lee's eyes widened and shook his head. "No, but I overheard Kakashi-Sensei reading outloud," Rock Lee said. TenTen shuddered. "Well, we better get going since the first stage is a test..," TenTen said. Neji nodded.

The three of them and Gai walked over to the Konohagakure school as they took they're seats. Gai left them and walked back. Rock Lee kept on arguing as they sat next to each other. I was mostly silent and so was Neji. But his blushing face was staring at Hinata's direction.

"Have a crush on Hinata-Chan?" TenTen asked Neji. His eyes widened. Slowly, he nodded. TenTen bursted into laughter. "Ha! That's your own cousin Neji-Kun!" TenTen said laughing. Neji shushed TenTen. "Hinata-Sama might hear you. Then she'll think I'm weird and stop hanging out with me," Neji said. TenTen kept her laughing inside and nodded. The two shook hands.

All of the arguments and student talking stopped when the Sensei, Iruka, came in. "Sakura-San. Pass out the tests," Iruka said. Sakura got up from her position in sitting next to Sasuke. Iruka handed her the test forms as she passed the tests to the students. The last was saved for herself. She went back to her seat as Iruka started the timer started the Chūnin test.

TenTen got out her pencil and put her name and date first. The first nine questions she skipped and answered the last 21 questions easily. TenTen was always not that clever. Nor was she short-tempered. But Neji had intelligence. So she sort of leered at his paper. But he had none of the first nine questions answered.

It wasn't long before he had "Byakugan" activated. She found out that he was looking directly at an older person that had just completed the test. Maybe Neji was looking at his test. I realized that it wasn't just a regular old guy. It was a Chūnin!

TenTen looked at Neji's paper when he had answered the questions easily. I too, answered the none questions with ease. I thought it was going to be all over when a Kunai Knife was thrown at my direction. Neji caught it thanks to his "Byakugan".

It wasn't long before Rock Lee himself copied off my own paper. Sasuke was the one to turn in his paper first before the Chūnins. Right. I keep on forgetting he was some sort of prodigy. Team Gai soon turned theirs in altogether. Though Naruto was having trouble on his test.

*few minutes later*

Naruto soon copied off of Hinata's paper. Neji clenched his fists and looked at the other direction. The timer went off with a loud ring. We all got up from out seats and went out of the school building to find out that we were right in a forest. When a second piece of paper was being handed out. A waiver.

TenTen signed it easily without the fear of getting injured or death. She turned it in to Iruka as Team Guy was handed an earth scroll. "I should keep the scroll!" Rock Lee said. Neji shook his head. "I should," Neji said. "No I think I should. I am handy with the scrolls," TenTen said proudly. "Actually, I think that Neji-Kun should keep it," Rock Lee said. TenTen sighed in defeat. "Alright," TenTen said as all teams entered the forest of death.
