Present TenTen's POV
"What's going on?!" Rock Lee asked. I could hear rumbling from the outside while Team Guy was in some sort of metal nutshell. "The sand siblings. They attacked Team Asuma. It's better if we stay here," Neji said. TenTen kept the scroll open so the metal shell wouldn't disappear.
"I-I don't want to die! This metal shell only lasts temporarily!" TenTen exclaimed, almost struggling to keep the scroll open like it was closing by itself. I saw as Neji put a hand on her shoulder. He actually smiled for once.
"I'll help, TenTen-Chan. Chakra is forcing the scroll to close," Neji said. TenTen slid her hand to the right side of the scroll so both of her hands were supporting one side. Neji was supporting one side as Neji kept an intense focus on the outside.
"There's someone here. The sand stopped," Neji said and TenTen nodded. But at the same time she was quivering in fear. It was the Three Sand Siblings. Team Guy waited for a long time for Neji's signal to say that they were gone. But they never left.
"They're right on the branch," Neji said whispering so quiet I could almost not hear him. Then I heard the sand move. "TenTen-Chan, release the scroll," Neji said. TenTen looked at him in surprise. "We'll be killed if we run into them!" TenTen said. Neji nodded. "But we only have five days to get to the center building. Come on just do it!" Neji said. TenTen thought about it for a moment. But in the end, she listened to Neji and rolled up the scroll. The metal shell disappeared into thin air.
"Well lookie here it's the leaf weaklings," Tenmari said with a smirk on her face. Gaara was silent as he was controlling the sand waiting for the right time to attack. "Run,' Neji whispered to TenTen and Rock Lee. The two nodded and they ran away. "Prissy pants!" Tenmari yelled over to Team Guy. TenTen's heart was beating fast with adrenaline. The same time as fear. It made her go faster.
"Not so fast," Gaara said and I heard the sand rustle. Team Guy ran quicker with fear. Eventually, the sand reached TenTen. She screamed as her right hand was trapped in the sand. "TenTen-Chan!" Rock Lee yelled and threw a shuriken at the sand. It did nothing but swallow it up.
"TenTen-Chan, get up! Get up right now and survive!" Neji yelled at her face. TenTen started to cry. "N-Neji-Kun!" TenTen yelled and reached out her left hand to Neji as the sand went up to her right arm reaching for her shoulder. Neji quickly took TenTen's hand without thinking and transferred chakra that reached up to TenTen's hand which was able to blow the sand away. TenTen had no time for relief. For her heart was racing and Team Guy started running faster and faster.
They stopped running when they were out of sight. They even didn't trust that they couldn't see them and sand could just blow off into their faces. They continued running until they reached solid ground as TenTen measured 4 miles away from where they last were. They were panting. But Rock Lee was energetic.
"Hey! TenTen-Chan! Neji-Kun! Look!" Rock Lee said and picked up a heaven scroll. But of course, he didn't open it. Neji carefully examined it. The heaven scroll was stained in sand that stuck to...blood. TenTen quickly gave the stained scroll to Neji.
"It was clearly one of the sand siblings, Gaara-San. The one that attacked TenTen-Chan. If she wasn't quick enough. The sand would have hardened and turn into sharp spikes and cut off her right arm completely," Neji said. TenTen gasped and covered her mouth with three fingers.
"This person was clearly killed. It's a blessing that we have the scroll," Neji said. Rock Lee looked shock. But I couldn't tell since his eyes were always wide open. "What if it was Ino-San, Choji-San, and Shikamaru-San?" Rock Lee asked. Neji shook his head. "I sensed that their chakra was still out there. Gaara-San must have spared them," Neji explained. TenTen nodded.
