Chapter 12

(James Pov)

I can't believe we still had to go to school even though we don't know yet if the demons are after Aaron. I only have one class with him so I can't protect him. All I can do is sit in class watch the clock and wait till I can see Aaron.

"Hey James I heard what happened last night from your parents." I heard Adian say well whisper considering were in class. "And as your protector I'm sapost to help you figure this out since it involves you."

"I don't need the protection Aaron does." I stated

"Well you know, you can tell me to protect him since you are technically the boss of Me." he said giving me an idea, but I don't even know if it will work.

"I want you to protect him, but can you?"

"What do you mean by that? Of course I can"

"No I mean he has different classes than you."

"Oh that well I kind of don't go to school hear I'm just here to protect you well and help but yeah the only way I could help and protect you was to get in your classes, because if I didn't there's before school and a hole chunk of time where you're not protected pulse you don't know much about demons so I came here."

"So can you?"

"Sure I'll do it after this class."

That made me feel better and I was able to relax a little, but I'm not going to completely relax till all this demon stuff was figured out.

The minuet school was over I stacked over to Aaron and Adian to make sure they were still alive. From the looks of it they were doing the same thing over to me. Locking eyes with Aaron he basically jumped into my arms, we well I fell back into the lockers accidentally closing someone.

"Hey I just figured out the combo for that stupid thing." The person shouted sounding frustrated. "Could you do me a favor and move on and not do that again."

I let go of Aaron and we moved out of the way so the guy could try and open his locker again. He noticed we hadn't left yet.

"What?" He asked not looking away from the locker and I'm guessing at least tried the combination more than 10 times.

"Nothing just wondering if you needed some help?"

"No." He said in a 'I'm a man and I can do this myself' way.

"Fine, fine were leaving." Grabbing Aarons hand and with Adian following we walked away from the frustrated teen.

"He seemed friendly." Adian said trying to lighten things up.

"I'm sure he's nice it's just that he might be having a stressful day and you bumping in to his locker didn't help." Aaron pointed out looking at me.

"Okay well can we go now?"

"Yeah lets go hey lets go to Adina's house were always at James's we should go to yours." Aaron said now looking at Adian with hope.

"Um I'm not so sure about that my parents don't know you're a demon and if they saw you they'd probably kill you on the spot."

Aaron was now looking at me in horror.

"Why would they do that?" I asked now trying to keep Aaron from freaking out.

"I come from a long line of Protectors and we don't like demons since they are what we are protecting people from. I still kind of don't trust you but since you are willing to be good I'm willing to help my parents wouldn't understand."

"Oh." Aaron said looking at the ground.

"Sorry."

"It's okay I guess."

"Come on lets go hang out." I say trying to get them on another topic.

"Okay let's go to your house James."

We walked to my house witch wasn't a very far walk. Aaron was still down about hearing that he couldn't go to Adian also I think that there's something else on his mind that he's not telling me.

"Let's play video games." I suggested

We decided to play a few rounds of video games after a while I got boring so we came out of my room to get a snack before my parents made dinner. I grabbed a bag of chips for all of us. Just as we were about to open it my dad walked in to start dinner.

"I hope you're not planning on eating that before dinner." my dad said eyeing me while he grabbed the bag a putting it away. "You'll spoil your dinner. Hello Aidan are you staying for dinner?"

"No my parents are making my favorite tonight."

"Well do you want a ride home?"

"My dad wanted to come pick me up to see where you live."

"Oh okay when is he coming?"

"He should be on his was about now."

My dad nodded as he got ingredients ready for spaghetti. Yummy! I went to sit down Just when a car pulled up which I assume that it's Aidan's dad considering that he said that he was on his was.

"Hey my dad's here." Aidan said

Yup I was right.

"By see you tomorrow." I say getting comfortable on the couch.

"By Aidan." Aaron said.

He said by to both of us then grabbed his stuff. Aaron was looking at me like I had a duck on my head. What did I do that was so strange?

"What?" I asked turning toward him just as Aidan left.

"You randomly smiled and nobody did anything or said anything funny."

"Well maybe I was thinking of something funny."

"What were you thinking about then?" he asked

"I was just thinking that the car that pulled up was Aiden's dad and I was right that's why I smiled."

"Oh." he said while rolling his eyes.

I chuckled at his reaction as I pulled him into me so we could cuddle on the couch and wait for dinner.
