                                                                              Chapter 3

Finally school was over and I can figure out what the heck was going on with my parents and me being a keeper. In all the rush trying to get passed the people just to get outside I accidentally bumped into some kid. His books and papers went everywhere.

"Oh my god dude I'm so sorry." Picking up some of his note books I realized who I had knocked over. Aaron.

He was on the floor in pain clutching his stomach looking as if he was going to cry, man I wanted to hold him so badly and take the pain away. As the last person walked out to the hall without thinking I sat down next to him pulled him to me careful not to hurt him anymore then he already was. Aaron cried quietly into my chest luckily he wasn't protesting having me hold him so I rubbed his back trying to comfort him. After a bit he calmed down, I didn't want to let go of him, but on the other hand we were still in school and we did have to go home.

"Are you okay?" I asked still concerned that he was going to cry again.

"Y-yeah s-sorry." He stuttered getting up and wiping his eyes with his sleeve. "I d-didn't mean to break down like that." He gathered his stuff and started walking I followed.

   "Are you sure you're okay?"

He stopped walking and turned to me "look I don't need your pity okay! I just had a week moment so leave me alone." His eyes were red and puffy.

"I wasn't pitying you." I went to touch him but he flinched away. "I'm sorry if it looked like I was, but I'm not okay I did that of my own free will."

Instead of saying anything he turned around and walked away I didn't try to stop him cause he probably wanted to be alone even though I really, really wanted to comfort him. Leaving school I was determined to talk to my parents about the demon slayer thing. I want to know what's going on.

I opened the door to my house and heard my parents talking about me I'm guessing it's about the whole demon thing. Don't get me wrong I really want to know what's going on, but I also want to know if Aaron is okay. Walking in the house I saw my mom and dad sitting on the couch waiting for me. Dropping my bag by the door like I always do I walked to the living room and sat down on the coffee table so I could face them.

"We know you opened the door." My mom stated looking at me. "We were hopping what we would have a little more time to figure out how to tell you but I guess it's time."

"You already know you're the keeper correct?" I nodded at my dad "Okay well it's a little more than that and you have to understand that it's not just something you can take lightly this is serious" I nodded again. "Okay you are the keeper and not only do you keep the demons from trying to kill the humans but you have to team up with the non-humans all so. Plus there might be some demon kids at your school but you won't be able to detect that till your full powers come in. that won't happen till your 17th birthday witch is next week."

"We realize this might be a lot for you to take in but it's what has to happen." My mom said giving my dad a break from talking. "James?"

I took a breath "I have two questions." They nodded wanting me to continue "Well you guy's said that I would have to work with the non-humans what do you mean by that?"

"Well like the werewolves, and maybe some reapers" My dad said.

I shifted uncomfortably trying to get comfortable still sitting on the coffee table. "Is there any chance that they go to my school?"
