Warren Chase

"Okay, let's get you inside." Warren said carrying Aura inside, the pain medication kicked in and her legs went just a bit numb.

"I literally can't feel my legs." She laughed.

"Those must be some strong pain killers."

"They are."

"Can I have some?" He joked.

"Very funny."

He looked down at her staring into her emerald green eyes. "I love you," He said.

"I know." She smiled up at him. Her smile wasn't a white perfect smile, but she was beautiful. Her lips were wide and plump, the dim light of the garage reflected off her long dark brown hair and her skin was a medium tone. Warren was attractive enough, with his hazel eyes and dark brown hair. He had very chiseled features, he had not shaved for a while so he had quite a bit of stubble. He has had a crush on Aura since the first time they met, a feeling which she has yet to reciprocate. She saved his life, he was on a job to assassinate a mob boss but it didn't go as planned, it was a trap, the man that hired him worked for the guy he was assigned to kill. Aura was there collecting information for a client, Aura can read minds and teleport so it helps with being an info broker. Warren and Aura are a lot alike except where she grew up poor, he grew up rich, the reason he left his cushy home was because he felt out of place being able to shape shift. Nobody really liked him anyways.

Warren opened the door and walked to the living room setting Aura down on the couch as gently as possible. But not easy enough. She flinched. "Sorry." He apologized.

"It's fine." She said smiling.

"GUYS!" Opal yelled running out of her's and Aura's shared room. "I got a face." She put her computer on the table.

"Really?" Aura asked. "Can you get a name?"

"Not sure yet. Should be simple enough though, all I have to do is search through a few government files and find a matching face. Hopefully it will be them." She explained tucking a few strands of black hair behind her ear.

"Okay, can we see the photo?" Warren asked.

"I'll pull it up now." Opal opened a file labeled street security. Then clicked on a photo file pulling up the photo. It was a picture, obviously taken by a road security camera, of a man around his late forties and a tall guy about eighteen years old leaving Aura's old apartment complex. The photo was dated September 5th 2016, the day her mom was killed.

"Are we sure these are our killers?" Warren asked.

"Look," Aura pointed to the teens hands, "zoom in a bit, Opal."

"You got it." Opal clicked a few buttons and the photo was zoomed in on the teen, he was extremely attractive, his blonde hair was gelled back with a serious look in his brown eyes. The only thing wrong with him is that his hands were covered in blood.

"See, blood. I'm pretty sure that's them." Aura said anger rising in her voice.

"Fair enough." Warren said.

"I'll get to work on it tomorrow. I'm really tired. Oh and, Aura," Aura looked at Opal, " keep that ice pack on your side. I'll give you another one in a few hours."

Aura nodded. She got up and walked to her room holding the ice pack to her side. Opal followed her. Warren laid down on the couch and shut his eyes falling asleep instantly.

This was not one of my best chapters, but I do hope you enjoyed it.
