KEVIN:
Clover was in...The building...All those times she had gone somewhere without specifying...wait a minute...Melvin went with her too. I quickly typed in Melvin's phone number. Sure enough, he was there too. Both my friends were part of this organisation. Originally, I had planned to ask Clover to break in tomorrow so I would get time to make the device to capture the Alpha but I guess now I'll be making the device first. Somehow, I was not as surprised as I should have been. I walked back home. The theory behind the device was simple. I would use a conductor, a really good one to attract the energy when the Alpha would try to change its host. I would store it into a battery and then cover it with an insulator, thereby trapping it indefinitely. I did a few calculations and found the perfect metal. Metal Man's metal. It was a better conductor than silver and it would be perfect. I hadn't expected that I would be done so quickly. I got myself some wires made out of the 'newly discovered' abundant metal. The authorities didn't want people to know that the metal came from the person who mysteriously went missing after enslaving our city but I knew better. Anyways, I connected it to a bunch of rechargeable batteries and I was done. The charge would flow through the wires and into the cell to be stored. I put my little device into a bag and strapped it on. I still needed to get to the Alpha and I couldn't ask Clover or Melvin for help. Of course, it then occured to me that that is precisely what I should do. Coming clean about the fact that I knew was the best way to go about it. It had been some time since the jumping accident so, I think at least one of them will want to go to their parents and let them know they were alright. I decided to head to the building again and wait there. As I walked, I began looking around. There was general gloom spread over the whole city. Ambulances were busy and people were crying. I felt happy that I would soon be responsible for ending their grief. All I needed was some co-operation. I arrived at the building soon enough. I found a cosy spot to sit and set up a figurative camp there. I wasn't sure how long I would have to wait so I pulled out a bag of chips from my bag and began munching on them. I put on my earphones and listened to some music. Time flew by quickly. Finally, the moment of truth arrived. I saw Melvin exiting the building through the door, Clover with him. They both looked startled, dazed even. Clover especially. Neither of them seemed physically injured which was good and indicated that I was right. I came out of my perfect spot and into the light. Melvin was about 20 meters away and looked as though someone had slapped the living daylight out of him. He picked up his pace and confronted me. "I have a perfectly legitimate reason for going into that creepy building over there with Clove---" He tried to explain before I cut him off "No problem bro. I already know everything about that. I came here for a reason. I need your help. Or perhaps more precisely, you need mine."...
MELVIN:
I saw a figure arising from the shadows, about twenty meters away. I was startled as I saw the shadow slowly evolve into a silhouette and then a complete person. A familiar person. A very familiar person. Holy Hera it's Kevin! I screamed internally. How did he know? Why is he here? Too many strange things happened today. We just beat up a bunch of Protectors and trapped general in the building. It certainly was a strange series of events. Clover was almost killed by Protectors....
