Chapter 3: Tomboy Problems

Its been a week and the whole village treats me like everybody else, with respect and care. I'm impressed that Aphmau has some loyal people living here! It's amazing!

I then walk out of my room and race upstairs to tell Aphmau the wonderful news!
"Hey Aphmau!!!" I scream to Aphmau as I run up to her at the kitchen table.
"Yeah what's up? Is something wrong?" She asks, as concerned as a Lord should be.
"I know what carrier I want to take for the village!" I screamed.
"Ohhhh, tell me,tell me, tell me" I could tell she was excited for me.
"If you would let me my Lord, I want to serve you and this village as a knight!" I kneel on one knee and lower my head. She then takes out her left over bread sticks from Olive Garden and places it on my left shoulder then my right shoulder.
"You are now officially one of my guards, but we will need to order special armour for you since we have no female armour. So you can't start straight away, but one of the guards can train you until then!" Aphmau looked so happy, but I was ecstatic!

After we ate breakfast Aphmau escorted me straight to one of the guard towers. Once we got to the top they looked surprised to see me. Aphmau then pushed me and said
"Here's your new recruit! Train her wisely while her armour gets ordered in." And Aphmau left without another word. And for a second we were quite until Laurence broke the silence.
"Guys huddle up" I could hear them whisper but I couldn't make out anything.
"Ok, we will see what you can do"
"Great so-"
"But first. You need to pass our trial."
"Ok, bring it on" I challenged him, how bad could it be?

Laurence, Dante, Garroth and I went into the woods part of the village. We then stopped as soon as we reached a mud pit? And across it was a toppled over tree, directly above the mud.
"So what are we doing again?" I asked lifting an eyebrow.
"Your trial, we have to balance on that tree and train with sticks-"
"With sticks?"
"Yes with sticks and try to knock the other person off and into the mud"
"Sounds fun!" I say as I smile, they looked so shocked, but I didn't care. What they didn't know yet was that I wasn't like other girls. I was different. I don't like dresses or heels or any of that. I like hanging back, letting loose and having fun. But that doesn't mean I'm not committed to a duty as a guard, or a slacker. Even though they don't know it yet, I'm like one of the dudes. But not literally, that would just be weird.

I then kart wheel onto the fallen tree and say
"Come on! Let's start already!"
Laurence then walked onto the tree, Dante threw us two sticks to fight with and announced
"In 3...
2...
1...
FIGHT!"
Laurence then got in a stance glancing at my ears constantly. When I felt a vibration on the tree, Laurence wasn't moving,neither was I. Now I see, trying to mess with me huh? Heh...foolish
I then close my eyes and take a deep breathe, then I shoot them back open and say
"I can see you" I turned around and whacked my stick hardly on their chest-plate, knocking him into the mud. I crouched on the tree and looked down below, it was Dante.
"Nice try, yet my mag- I mean skills never fail" whew that was close...

A moment later Laurence started laughing like crazy. So I did the same thing I did to Dante to him. He then face-planted into the mud and I started to crack up laughing and so did Garroth.
"I told you guys it was a bad idea." Garroth grinned as he went to the side of the mud where Dante and Laurence lay. Laurence then turns on his back looking up, facing me and smiling. It...kinda...made my cheeks go pink...

I then crouch on the tree and look down at Laurence
"I win"
"Not so fast" Laurence grinned,
"What do you mean-" Laurence then kicked the fallen tree and I was out of balance, falling to the ground. I hit something when I fell, I think I might of hit a rock or something. I sit up, lift up my upper body, and hold my head. My eyes were shut still, I had no idea what I hit.
"Ow, my head, what was that?" I say still leaving my eyes shut. But then I hear heavy breathing. I then open my eyes seeing what I hit, it was....it...it was Laurence...out cold? We must have clashed heads. Once I remember I wasn't the only one conches I blushed more then when I opened my eyes and saw Laurence. I squeaked and got to my legs, backing up. When tripped and my whole back was covered in mud, great...
