Chapter 15: A Friend? (Happy, Late Valentines Day Special)

I held him, he pulled me closer and my head was on his chest. He felt warm...but I could hear his heart racing. I then loosed my grip and looked up at him. I lifted my hand and placed it on his cheek, wiping away the tears. Placing the other hand on his chest I could still feel his heart beating even faster. I closed my eyes
"Shhh...calm down." His heartbeat slowly lowered. And I opened my eyes to see Laurence wide eyed.
"Laur-ence!" My voice cracked and a single (anime :P) tear flew down my face. "I don't know what to do...you've been acting weird, and what happened before, and I'm seeing things a-a-and...I don't know what to do anymo-" I was interrupted by Laurence pulling me into his chest and hugging me...tightly...
"I'm sorry Aki, there has been a lot of stuff I've been keeping inside of me...and i-"
"It hurts?" I finished his sentence. "I know what you mean Laurence. I know how it feels way too much..." I bite my lip as I dug deeper into his chest. He then took hold of my arms and pulled me back from him.
"I want to speak to you, somewhere else then here...please!" I looked at me in the eyes.
"Sure..." I Said sadly.

He then took my hand and ran while he dragged me behind him. The pitter patter of the rain and our feet splashing into puddles of water. As he dragged me up the familiar mountain, I am met with the Lady Irene Shrine infront of me. The same place I told Laurence my story and the same place he told me what love was, yet I still don't know what it is. He stopped in his tracks and turned around.
"The build we were at just a minute ago is a grave were my friend was burried." I was shocked.
"Who died?" I ask placing my hand over my mouth in shock.
"Ungrth" he stated.
"Well, if they were friends with you. They must of been a nice person" I smiled slightly.
"Well, not so my much a person..." What? "More like a Wyvern..."
"What's a Wyvern?" I asked.
"Well to explain the appearance of him...he was like a small dragon, but bigger then me. He had a beak-like snout that curved at the edge of it, and he was golden yellow. He was...amazing" he smiled to himself.
"He sounds amazing." I assured him. "But if you don't mind me asking" I came closer to him. Looking up at him I asked "I have so many questions, yet none answered. And I think I have known you long enough to ask...how did you find this village, how did you find Aphmau and when did you want to serve as a guard? What was your childhood like?" I asked, so many questions racing in my mind.
"Well that's a loooooooooooong story. That's goes all the way to when I had orange hair and green eyes" he chuckled.
"But Laurence, you do have green eyes" I say confused.
"What?!" He raced to the Irene statue and looks into the water seeing his reflection.
"What the?! When did I? Ughh...nevermind. But are you sure you want to here it? My story is huge" By the time he turned around, I was sitting on the floor, cross legged and holding my cheeks in my hands. He chuckled and sat down with me...

By the time he ended his story I was heartbroken.
"Laurence...you've had such a hard life, worse then mine"
"Heh, don't say that. Everyone has a past. Yours was you alone, until you came here. And I'll never let you leave..."
"Excuse me! I can leave whenever I want!" I puffed my cheeks. He chuckled, coming closer.
"But you won't, will you" I just looking away.
"I really feel sorry for you, Ungrth being murdered like that-" I felt my ear twitch and stood up. Laurence stood up but I put my arm in front of him.
"Who's there!" I say loudly. After a minute I stand up an say "False alarm." I then flop into the grass and look up at the stars. Laurence joins me in a...less painful way. Yeah~ I might have hurt myself-but that's off topic.

-Laurence's POV-

Placing my hands underneath my arms, I sigh. Why? Why did I have to-
"The stars are beautiful don't ya think?" Aki pulls me away from thoughts with her beau- with her voice. Her.Voice.
"Y-yeah" I stutter.
"Is something wrong? She asks.
"It's just I uhh...I was wondering...uh" think of something else! Think! "I was...umm...thinking about you?" He then widens her eyes and blushes.
"W-w-what?" She stutters starting to get flustered.
"I-I no! I-I-I" I didn't know what to say. She giggles and sits up. Gaining my composure I start to speak properly.
"What I meant to say was...will you ever leave the village?"
She smiled and I sat up. He came closer and closer until she was inches away from me. I-I couldn't move, as if paralysed. Was she going to. No. She slightly puckered her lips. OH GOD ITS HAPPENING! WHAT DO I DO? DO I STOP HER, DO I LET HER? DO I WANT HER T-
I hear a thump and I see Aki up close, eyes closed and feel something warm on my forward. She un-puckers her lips and was left with a smile.
"Laurence...I will never ever leave this village...you have my oath" she says as she places her hand on my cheek.
"Heh, so...." She opens her eyes to look at me. "Want to look at the stars?" She asks and I lye on the lush green grass. We find constellations, and make our own.
"And I'll call that one Aki" I say.
"Why?" I ask.
"Because it looks like a flower"
"And?"
"Flowers are beautiful" I say under my breath.
"What?"
"Nothing!"

I even got to know things about her that she hasn't told anyone.
"Favourite animal?" I ask.
"Hmm...Wolves"
"Favourite colour" she asked me.
"Green, emerald green to be exact. My turn! Who's the most attractive?"
"What!"
"I asked you a question, you have to answer."
"U-um....I don't judge a person on looks. I really don't care if people judge me, you or anyone, they are stupid. I mean come on! Dating a girl for just her looks, imagining her being something like...I dunno, a demon?!" She chuckled but I just clenched his fist.
"And if were a guy and loved that girl for her looks and personality. Would you still love her for being a demon?" I gritted my teeth. Does she really feel that way?
"Of course I would. But I told you before..." I looked at her with a slight bit of anger.
"...I don't know what love is." I titled my head in confusion. She stood up and turned around. I then sat up and said.
"But I explained to you what love is-"
"It's not the same as feeling loved. I don't understand it! It drives me crazy not knowing if I am loved by someone or not. Will I ever love someone? Will someone ever love me? Probably not but-"
"What do you mean?" I feel so confused right now...
"Umm, if you haven't already noticed. I'm not really...the 'looker'" she circles her face.
"Hold on, are you saying your not 'good-looking'?" I raise my voice.
"Kinda." She puts her head down to look at her feet.
"Aki, you are a beautiful women. Inside and out..." She lifts her head a little to look at me walking closer to her.
"And there are many people that love you."
"Who? Cause I've seen no one who loves me at this point" she says angrily but is still soft with her words. I came closer to her and looked down. I Place my hands on her chin and lift her head up. I take away my hand and hug her.

-Autumn's POV-
He hugs me and I feel warmer, I feel safer. I-I feel-
"I love you..." As soon as I hear that I'm stiff and I slightly push him, but mostly back off of his hug. Looking at him with wide eyes he scratches the back of his head and continues his sentence.
"Yeah, I-I do. And so does Aphmau, Kawaii-Chan, Dante, Garroth, and everyone else in the whole village!" D-Did h-he just say h-he lives m-me?

-Laurence's POV-
(So much switching...sorry :3)

Aki looks so flustered. But I should say that for myself. I'm probably as red as a tomato... But as I'm about to say something to Aki, I feel a presence. Maybe it wasn't a false alarm before? But how would she even know if someone was here?
"U-um, Aki..." I gained her attention. "T-the uh...calling is w-wild, I mean the is calling wha? I-I" well this is embarrassing.
"Yes Laurence, you are excused to do your business naturally- omg I can't take it! Hahahahaha!" She laughs on the floor.
"Haha, very funny" I say sarcastically and walk into the small forest. There I see a shadow and walk up to it without a sound. When I'm close enough, I was about to tackle the figure when I see it was only made out of sticks and leaves. I chuckle to myself but then couldn't breathe when I felt something go ontop of my mouth. I turn around to see.....Aphmau. She places a finger on her lips signalling for me to be quiet.
"Aphmau? What are you doing here?" I whisper-shouted.
"Um... This is my village?" She says confusingly.
"You know what I mean"
"Well, I saw Autumn walk off after I talked to her and I was curious about where she was going...so I kinda saw everything"
"Everything?" I ask.
"Everything..." Aphmau echoed me. "And I think it was really sweet, you make her feel special. Even I can see that...now go back! Before she thinks you take too much time to go to the bathroom." I chuckled at her comment and went back to Aki, when I came back she was looking at the stars. Like in a trance. I walked over to her and we layer there is silence.
"Hey Aki..." I started, but I got no answer. I then turned to see and angle sleeping and circled up slightly in a ball. I tap her again,again and again. But she didn't wake up. So I carried her to my place...
