Chapter 1: Getting Caught

I woke up early, staring at the sunrise hugging my leg while the other dangled over the edge of the platform.

I wonder how stupid these guards really are, they still haven't cau-
Well, it's about time...

I feel a tingling sensation, my magics acting up again. I could feel two guards slowly walk up the flight of tree house stairs. They both were armed and ready to attack, but what they didn't know was that I was one step ahead of them. I could feel them creeping up to the platform; the same one I was sitting on.
"I know your there. I mean you no harm" I say aloud, turning to two men, who I have to say were handsome. But well who knows, they might just be two blonde bimb-bows.

"Who are you?" The one with an emerald sword took a step back.
"Don't worry I won't bite." I grin, but they couldn't even see it anyway (mask :P). "But, who wants to know?" I stand up.
"Laurence, guard of Phoenix Drop"
"Garroth, head guard of Phoenix Drop" They Both said respectfully.
"And you are?" Garroth asked.
"The names Autumn, but you can call me Aki if you want." I replied with happiness.
"And what's with the...Get up?" Laurence asked as he blushed trying to look anywhere but my direction.
"It helps with camouflage, and stealth, not heavy but still has armour the parts that I need it. Not that anyone has striked me as of yet" I brag.
"Ok 'Ninja' , what are you doing here?" Laurence said in a stern voice.
"I've come to find a place to call home, if that place isn't filled with evil" I raised an eyebrow.
"Trust me our village is far from evil, I promise you" Garroth Insisted.

"Ok, then may I join your village?" I asked.
"Well that's not my choice, The Lord has to answer that question. Now come, follow us, we'll take you to her" Garroth said.
"Wait her? You mean a girl is actually in charge around here?" I asked surprised.
"You seem surprised?" Laurence asked.
"Yeah, cause there's a lot of sexist people in the world. Never thought a girl would be in charge." I say as I walk down the wooden stairs of the giant tree.

The guard's Laurence and Garroth escorted me to the Purple and White House I looked at the night before. But on the way people kept staring at me, was it because I was new or for a different reason I don't know? We then reached the house and Garroth knocked on the door. We then heard a feminine voice yell out "Coming!"

As the door opened I saw a beautiful young women with purple clothes, black hair and beautiful hazel eyes. As she greeted the guards in the corner of my eye I saw Garroth blushing...hmmm I wonder why? She then rests her eyes upon me.
"Hello, I am Lord Aphmau, and welcome to Phoenix Drop. How may I be of your assistance?" She said graciously, she was so polite.
"Hi, my name is Autumn, and I am looking for a place to call my own. So if it's no problem may I join your village Aphmau?" I asked with most respect. She scanned me up and down.
"Sure but if you try anything to destroy our village, your going to be sorry" she stares me in the eyes.
"I won't dare do anything to your village or your people, I solemnly swear, M'lady." I say trying to convince her I'm a nice person. I don't blame her for being sceptical, even I was.

"Now, you may explore the village at your own free w-." Laurence was about to finish when Aphmau interrupted and said
"She will be escorted by Garroth, right now I need your help with something. Garroth, right now you are off your guard duties. Please take Autumn and show her around the village. I hope you like our village Autumn" she smiled.
"No, it's ok Lord Aphmau. I will be fine to explore the village on my own. Garroth can help you as well, he is your head guard after all. Right now I shall take my leave." I say, as I'm about the leave I see Garroth turn around and mouth the words 'Thank You' to me. Hmm... I wonder why?

I turn around to see Phoenix Drop, it's still beautiful in the day too! I walk down the path from Lord Aphmau's house and start to walk the streets. Looking around I stare at the wheat fields, as they sway with the summer breeze. I then hear barking, it came closer and closer until I felt something soft on my legs. I turn around to see it was a cute little dog. I kneel and start to pet him
"Hey buddy, what's your name?" I ask the dog, in a puppy-dog-talk way.
"My name is Yip! And your's is?" Did the dog just...talk to me? I was shocked.
"D-did you j-just t-t-talk to me?" I stuttered.
"Yeah! Have you never seen a wolf before?" He asked cocking his head to the side.
"Awesome! Wait, your a wolf?" I asked. He nodded a yes.
"Sweet! I love wolfs!" I smiled scratching behind his ear, he seemed to like it.
"And my name is Autumn, I'm new here." I say with a genuine smile.

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF HIM!" I here a girl screaming and she ripped the dog out of my hands.
"Hey what's up?" I ask, is she okay?
"NEVER TOUCH HIM AGAIN YOU SLUT!" She screamed at me.
"Excuse me? He ran up to me, and at least he's nicer than you are being." I say in a calm manner.
"OH IS THAT SO? ARE GONNA KILL HIM OR SOMETHING? HUH? HUH?!" She screamed even louder, and started to make a scene.
"No, why would you think that?" I asked still calm, and very confused.
"HOW ARE YOU CONFUSED? YOUR A SHADOW KNIGHT HERE TO DESTROY US? ARENT YOU!!" As she screamed those words the crowd gasped.
"Um, sorry to burst your bubble but I'm not a 'shadow knight', nor I even know what that is." I am so confused, what's a shadow knight? And why would she call me one? I was just talking to the wolf, or Yip, or, oh just forget it.

As confusion raced around my head I started to see other guards come to see what was going on. Then a guard raced up to me with his swords, I blocked them easily with mine.
"Dante! Stop!" I heard Aphmau, Garroth and Laurence coming, Thank God! I broke from the block and stood back. Laurence came and stood in front of me, like he was protecting me? I can protect myself!
"What is going on here Donna?" Laurence asked the the girl named 'Donna'.
"SHE IS A SHADOW KNIGHT! SHE WAS HURTING MY YIP AND SHE WILL DESTROY PHOENIX DROP!" I have no idea how she keeps getting louder and louder. When Laurence heard what Donna said he looked at me for a second then back at Donna.
"She's not a shadow knight, I would have felt i-" Laurence explains but I interrupt him. I put my hand on his shoulder and said "Hey it's okay, I got this" and stood in front of him.

I looked at the at the angry women and said "What makes you think I am this 'shadow knight'?" She started to calm down a little.
"Because you were going to hurt my son, and probably this village!" She said in a stern voice while looking at the croud.
"And if I was this 'shadow knight' and you supposedly 'rat me out' wouldn't I have attacked you or your village by now? So...answer me that" I said in a smart-ass tone.
"She's got a point" a blue haired guy said, the same one who attacked me. Dante I think it was?
"Well that doesn't excuse the fact that she tried to hurt yip, where's your proof now?" she squeezed the dog in a, what looks to be like an uncomfortable, hug.
"Well my proof is right in your hands, stop squeezing him and let him speak of what happened. I mean, come on, your hurting the little thing."

As soon as I said that Donna let go of Yip, and the little wolf pup gasped for air.
"She's...right...she...didn't...try to hurt me...I went up to her...to greet her...to the village" Yip said taking breaths in between.
"So, we good?" I asked, folding my arms and shrugging.
"I guess so..." She pouted, embarrassed of being wrong. Yip then ran up to me and asked
"Are you ok?"
"Me? I'm fine. That's what I should be asking you! She had you tight in there" I chuckled.
"It's ok, momma Donna didn't want to hurt me, she just gets..."
"Aggravated?"
"Yep! Now I gotta go now, bye!" He giggled.
"Bye!" I said, he licked me then ran of to do... Wolf cub things I guess...

I stood up and dusted the wolf hair off my armour.
"Sorry about that" I heard a male voice behind me. I spun around to see the blue haired guy that attacked me.
"Oh it's okay, I don't blame her"
"Yet, it was totally uncalled for her to say that" I was confused, what was he t- ohh, that.
"Again I don't blame her, someone would have said it sooner or later with this get up." I gesture to my body. He looked shocked and then blushed, was he not thinking about that? Oops.
"But besides it's my armour" once I said that he was confused.
"Why so confused Dante. Oh, Ninja girl making a new friend I see?" He said playfully.
"Oh hey Laurence, and if you mean making an acquaintance with the same person who thought I was a threat and attacked me, then yes. I'm making an acquaintance, and what's wrong with that?" I asked in my smart-ass tone again.
"Because he attacked you" Laurence acted like it was so obvious.
"But I kept my composure, something I don't do often." I said calmly. "Well it was nice talking to you guys but I have my own business to attend to." I walked in the direction of Aphmau's House. I want to try to find Garroth, I'm curious why he mouthed 'Thank You' so I'm going to ask him. I mean it's not that hard to ask someone what you said, is it?
