Alex's P.O.V...He stares at us. For a long time. "Tell me!" Marshall yelled. I've never seen Marshall look this desperate to know something. Well, you can't blame him. Our best friend is in there, and we don't know if she's alive or not. The doctor opened his mouth to speak.
"Do you have any contact information about her parents or family?" He asks. What? Seriously? I took in a deep breath before I lost it. I need to know if she's okay.
"No, we don't. Now, please tell me her condition." I begged. He gulped and looked into his clipboard. He, then, looked at Marshall and Jack. He chewed on his lip.
"We didn't get all twenty four pills out, and there is no heart beat." He said, sadly. Marshall started crying and screaming. I sat on the chair and let the tears fall. Jack stood there, motionless.
"What room is she in? I want to go see her." Jack asked. The doctor motioned him to follow, but we all did, not just Jack. Marshall stopped screaming and just cried in silence. The doctor opened a door and we saw her.
She was there. Dead. Gone. Motionless. She did it. She got exactly what she wanted. Marshall stood on the left side of the bed. Jack stood on the right side. And I stood in the doorway.
"Give us a few minutes please.." Jack said. The doctor nodded and I moved inside, so he closed the door. I stood by Jack. He held her hand and kissed it. What a shit day. Who knew? She did. She took the chance she had and did it.
"Hey, Beth. You probably can't hear me but, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I hurt you." Jack said, letting a few tears fall. Her hair was all over the place but her cheeks were tear-stained. I noticed her lips, they were cut a little. He let go of her hand and walked out of the room.
"Beth...you promised.." I said with my hand on her cheek. That's all I could say. I thought she wouldn't do it. I really thought she'd stay. I felt angry now. She promised. She also promised she wouldn't lie anymore. Whatever. I wiped my tears and said, harshly "I'll be waiting outside with Jack."
Marshall's P.O.V...
After Alex left, I wiped my tears. I fixed her hair, moving it out of her face. I brushed it with my fingers and tried wiping the dry tears from her cheeks. I held her hand in mine, squeezing it.
"I got troubled thoughts.." I cried, singing.
"And the self esteem to match." The tears streamed down my cheeks.
"What a catch..." I sobbed into her hand. What a fucking catch. I shouldn't have let her run off. This is my fault for letting her get away.
"I shouldn't have let you go. Why didn't you call me? Why did you go? What are your parents going to say? Bethany, come back.." I cried, letting go of her hand. It fell on the bed. I touched her cheek. It suddenly felt cold, really cold. I looked at her body, hoping to see her breathe, but she didn't. She was dead.
"You got what you wanted. Your wish. But I didn't. I wanted you to stay for me, for Alex, and Jack." I wiped the tears that kept falling. I looked at her, I can't be-
"TRY TO BRING HER BACK! PLEASE! I NEED HER TO COME BACK!" I heard her, it's Alex. She came inside and dropped onto her knees. She pulled onto her hair. The tears kept streaming down her cheeks.
