Sunsets

Chapter 2: Meeting Lexi

Leo's POV

She looked so radiant as I gazed from a far and before I could even stop myself my mouth moved on its own accord, "Gorgeous, why are you sitting their all by yourself," I mentally face palmed as I watched her head whip towards the sound and then her ocean blue eyes stared back at me like if it was staring into my soul. She was gorgeous is all I could think because if you saw her you would think that as well and as I've been admiring her for the past six months I think I could speak for myself and tell you she is beautiful.

"Are you talking to me?" She asked politely and I couldn't help but smile she has such a soft spoken voice that if you weren't listening closely you might not even hear it.

"Yes, I'm talking to you," I replied back stepping closer to her and moving away from my trucks trunk, her eyes wavered a little bit but those blue eyes had a hold on me I was so drawn to them.

"How can I help you?" She asked just as I stopped to the side of her sitting down right next to her as her eyes flicked from me to the ocean and back again I saw something click and she slid a little bit away from me.

"I just wanted to say hi and ask you how you were, this may sound creepy and all but I see you everyday sitting here and I just wanted to get to know the pretty girl who has been clouding my thoughts for the past six months." I smiled as the words kept coming out and her eyes widened when I told her I've been watching her for some months now.

"I'm Lexi," she smiled and that was the first smile I've seen that lit her face up since I've been watching her and she reached her hand out to shake mine.

I smiled lightly as I talk her hand and shook it, " I'm Leo, it's very nice to finally have a name to that gorgeous face."

Her cheeks turned a crimson red and I couldn't help but let out a chuckle as she pulled her hand back from mine and I couldn't help but think how it felt to have her hand in mine that feeling was indescribable. "Nice to meet you as well Leo. This may seem a little forward but are you Leonardo James?" She asked with a hint of hesitation to her voice.

"Yes, I am and how does a pretty lady like yourself no who I am because if I knew who you were before I would have never forgot you," I smiled looking her dead in the eyes."

"No, you don't know me but I know your father Levi he's a great man what he does for the hospital, very generous and don't worry I'm pretty sure if you did you would've forgot me I'm not someone worth remembering," she said and I couldn't help but hear the break in her voice as she spoke.

"Your a nurse?" I asked dumbly to which she replied with a nod. "Well if you were my nurse baby I would be sick everyday just to have you by my side," I chuckled lightly as I heard a giggle come out of her.

"I'm a pediatric nurse so sorry I wouldn't be able to treat you," she giggled as she was speaking.

"Shoot and here I thought I was going to check myself into the hospital tomorrow just so I could have nurse Lexi be my personal nurse," I chuckled but didn't realize the change in her demeanor.

"I have to go," she said quickly as she rose from the sand to her feet picking up her sandals and slipping them on her eyes darting to the ocean and back down to her feet.

"Umm are you sure?" I asked noticing her shift in demeanor. "Do you need a lift home?" I asked to which she shook her head no quickly what the hell did I do wrong, what did I say to trigger this.

"I'm sorry I just have to go, I'm late for something," she replied quickly and with out a second glance she dashed off down the beach onto the boardwalk disappearing within seconds.

Idiot I said over and over in my head as I kicked the sand up, why are you such an idiot, what did I say that made her rush off like that and why didn't I chase after her. Ugh!

"So are you just going to kick sand like a baby or are you going to come tell your best friend what has got you so uptight after Lexi just ran off?" I heard Jace's voice before I could see him and I mentally face palmed I was not in the mood for this.

"Just get in the truck and don't say a word," I said as I made my way to my truck then something dawned on me, "wait how the fuck do you know who Lexi is?" I asked agitated more now.

"Um because I'm dating her best friend," he replied coyly and my hands tightened on the staring wheel.

"So you mean to tell me you knew Lexi this whole time and didn't think mentioning it to me would have been better than me stalking her for the past six months and me telling you all about this girl but you knew the whole time who she was," I asked annoyed beyond annoyed more like furious.

"Well I didn't know this infatuation would have lasted that long, Leo we know your reputation with girls and Lex has gone through a lot and she really needs someone who wants her for her," he replied and my eyes darted towards him.

"What has she been through Jace and why I'm I not good enough for her, I'm not even thinking about a relationship I just was getting to know her," I focused my attention back on the road but couldn't help but notice the shake of Jace's head.

Authors note:

Hey guys I really hope you are enjoying sunsets I'm mainly going to try and update on weekends as I have school and it's really hectic and I will be updating on days that I have off during the weeks for example this week I have no school Thursday and Friday so I'm going to try and update on one of those days but for now if not my next update will be Saturday.

So do you guys like the book do you like the alternating point of  views.
