Chapter two

unedited and boring ha :)

Ashton grinned as he and Calum got out of the water and Ashton let his ring 'do it's magic' and let his tail turn back into his tan, human legs. "I don't think I'm ever going to get used to seeing that." Calum spoke up from where he was on the sand drying himself off with his towel as Ashton ran over to him. Ashton chuckled and shrugged, sitting down on the sand.

Calum sat down beside him with the towel around him and looked out at the ocean. "Feel better now?" He asked with a chuckle. Ashton nodded and smiled wide. "Much." He replied in a cheeky manner. Calum rolled his eyes jokingly and laid back. "Do you think we'll see those guys again? The one with black and red hair was hot." Ashton scoffed at his best friend's words. "What?" Calum asked, laughing as he stood up. Ashton shrugged and stood up too, walking with Calum back up to the house. "Probably. The red and black haired one reminded me of someone..."

"Who?"

"I don't know..." Ashton huffed, sighing. He shrugged and continued to walk up to the house. "Last one home's a rotten fish." Ashton yelled as he sprinted the last few meters home with Calum whining out a 'hey' before chasing after him.

Calum was the rotten fish.

The two boys had spent the day unpacking their things and setting up their bedrooms and were now stuffed. Ashton and Calum ran downstairs as Joy called out for them.

"Yeah Ma?" Calum asked as he turned the corner and walked into the lounge room. Joy thrusted a fifty-dollar note into His hand and grinned. Ashton raised an eyebrow at them and chuckled. "What's this for?" Calum asked, putting the money in his pocket.

"I want you boys to go down the street and get some dinner. Just some fish and chips will do." Joy said. Ashton groaned from where he was standing and whined. "Mum, you know how I feel about fish and chips." "Oh, right honey. Sorry, I forget sometimes." Ashton nodded, sighing. "Just...I don't know, it's still light out, see if you can find somewhere else to get food, maybe pizza or something." Ashton nodded and grabbed Calum's wrist, guiding him out the front door.

--

"Do you have any idea where you're going?" Calum asked, Ashton shrugged and shook his head but then quickly stopped and pointed. "Look, a pizza shop." He said and grinned. Calum rolled his eyes and followed the older boy into the pizzeria.

"How the fudge did you know which way to go?" Calum asked as they walked in. "Instincts I guess." Ashton teased. Calum scoffed, "You're a merman not a GPS." He said and rolled his eyes with a huff. Ashton laughed softly and walked with his 'brother' to order their pizzas.

As they sat and waited for their food, Ashton looked over and saw two familiar faces sitting not too far away from them at a table. Ashton furrowed his eyebrows as his ring finger tingled from the ring and the golden-bronze band shined slightly. He looked up and saw that the red head, Michael? He was looking down at his own hand in confusion before looking around.

"Uh, Ash? You alright thee mate?" Ashton heard Calum ask as he poked him. Ashton's finger was still tingling but not as much and he was now holding eye contact with the blonde boy. He quickly turned and looked at Calum. "Yeah...yeah I'm fine. Just a bit hot that's all. I'm gonna go wait outside." He murmured, getting up and rushing out.

Calum raised an eyebrow but shrugged, looking back down at his phone, not noticing the other boys at their table or that the blonde one got up and went outside. He looked up when someone came and sat down across from him. "Can I help y- Oh hi." He blushed as he noticed it was the red/black-haired boy. "M-Michael right?" He asked. "Correct." Michael said and smiled in a cocky manner.
