For three long, exhausting hours Kennedy sat huddled against her pillow in her designated room, debating over whether she overreacted. She knew she did to some extent, but at the same time it wasn't like Lucian was groveling at her feet for forgiveness. At twenty-six, she was a grown ass woman and could take responsibility for her mishaps, but her stubborn side wouldn't let her go running to him without so much as a knock on the door from his side. She was a firm believer men shouldn't be too tough to admit their faults, and an Alpha male was no exception.

It was past time for her to get some sleep; her eyes were like lead weights fighting to stay open, but her mind wouldn't stop talking to itself and let her relax. Knowing she would never get rest sitting cooped up stewing, she decided to make an appearance down with the guys. There was no logical reason for her to sit locked away miserable when they were probably slaughtering zombies on Call of Duty without her epic skills.

Maybe he would be asleep and she could con the twins into a game or two.

No, even then she wouldn't be able to sleep. Part of her wanted reassurance her and Lucian were on good terms again. If he was asleep she would have to wait 'til morning to see where they stood.

She looked down at her crumpled, soggy pillow in disgust and shoved it away with more force than necessary before she stood up and straightened her clothes out. Fluffing her hair for a little extra body, she squared her shoulders and marched out the door. If those guys thought they would have fun while she sat back and cried they were sorely mistaken. Yes, she could be emotional at times, but it's not like this incident was without reason. It hit a cord in her chest that was still very raw from the pain of losing her child and he needed to understand that; even if he hadn't meant it quite like that.

And what was with his comment about blending two species? Though it made her curious and a little weary, it wasn't painful to hear. That brought about another set of questions though. If witches and werewolves exist, what about other mythical creatures? Vampires? Dragons? Elves? Demons?!

Her mind was on overdrive tonight and if she didn't get sleep soon, she'd end up hallucinating and seeing them for real!

Walking into the living room, Kennedy was left dumbstruck. There were a few miscellaneous things shattered and torn, numerous holes punched into the sheetrock and the leather couch was shredded to mere scraps of fabric and fluff. The twins seemed to be in an intense conversation, arguing animatedly about something while Lucian sat with his back to her on the floor with his head in his hands. His body was shaking uncontrollably and for a moment Kennedy had to resist the urge to roll her eyes, thinking he was wanting to shift and demolish what was left of the house.

It wouldn't matter how quiet she tried to be by creeping into the room; their enhanced senses could probably pick up on dust moving across the house, so she attempted to act casual as she strolled up to the trio and began to speak to no one in particular.

"What's up, guys?"

All three heads snapped up in her direction and Kennedy was at a loss for words from the emotions running across their faces. Benjamin looked relieved she was here; obviously hoping she would diffuse the situation. Jerry looked angry; assuming because she was the cause of all this mess, but Lucian's expression was the most pronounced of all. Salty tears cascaded down his cheek and down his defined jaw until they dove toward the hardwoods just a foot below, splashing into a puddle of sorrow. He looked absolutely devastated and Kennedy knew it was all her fault.

"Oh Lucian, what's wrong?" she asked bending down to his level on the floor.

"Like you don't know, it's your fault," Jerry mumbled from above rolling his eyes.
