Now you're thinking "whoa James' dad is the villain?" Quite right you are. But you have questions that you need answers to, and I'm only giving one answer away. Why did his dad give him the stone after he dug it up and didn't keep it for himself? Now that's the question isn't it? I could throw answers left and right like "it's a fake stone" or "he didn't have evil intentions while he still did his archaeologist thing." I could lie to you so you can be relieved but that's too mainstream. James' dad is more important than you think he is. Here's what really happened...

"Mr. President, there has been interference in Egypt possibly of alien origin" said Jeffrey to the president of the United States.
"Bring Mr. Miles in" said the President.
It's been too long since I had explored the world, it would be nice for me to get a job right now. The phone rang. I picked it up without hesitation.
"Henry Miles who's this?"
"This is the president of the United States of America, tell me Miles, do you miss going exploring?"
I was excited, the President of the US noticed me. He wants me to do a job. I entered the White House with a big smile on my face.
"Miles, let's talk," President Kennedy signalled his guards for privacy
"So what have you called me here for?"
"Egypt, I need you to go back."
"Why?"
"We have discovered an artefact that may or may not be supernatural."
"What makes you say that?"
Kennedy showed me a picture, "these readings were recorded just 2 days ago and it's still interfering with some signals, a man with your experience could check it out?"
"Alright sure, when should I depart?"
"Now."
I have arrived in Egypt, the familiar smell of the warm sands and the emptiness that is this desert. A tunnel leading straight down was in front of me. I entered. It looked like your typical Egyptian catacomb, with the statues and writings on the walls. I came face to face with this artefact, it was a cylinder in shape with all sorts of symbols I don't even recognise. So I slowly reached my hand out to touch it. This was not a good idea.
I heard a voice a very loud voice, it knew my name, it knew everything, it wanted me to kill.
"Miles, Henry James Miles you poor soul. Look at you, your rewards are useless and so is your job. Look where that got you."
I couldn't move my mouth, I felt dizzy and it was hard to think
"I want something from you, this world is too full. Eradicate it, kill them all. Leave yourself to start a new and more intelligent race. Find four stones, put them in this device and watch the world burn."

Pretty crazy huh? Yeah this happened 4 months after he gave James the stone. Henry has been mind controlled to take it back as well as destroy all of humanity, not just half of it like he said, but all of it. Well there answers you question enjoy the story
