I am such an idiot. I can't get into a relationship with Lockwood, (I stabbed Lady Esmerelda in the stomach.) he's my boss!
I sliced Lady Esmerelda across the neck and she span on the hook that was holding her up. I stabbed her back as well, trying to let all my emotions out.
"Wow, you are really killing her." A voice came from the door. "Careful, we're low on straw."
George came in with a tray of donuts in his hand. For the first time in the time I had spent with Lockwood and Co., I actually felt pleased to see him.
"Donut?" He thrust the tray at me and the donuts pushed towards my end of the tray. I smiled as I took the blue one. "Careful, they're Lockwood's favourite."
The sound of Lockwood's name sent me back into my angry mood.
"Why as going on Lucy?" George asked as he pushed his glasses up his nose.
"I don't know." I said in a half-truthful way. I did kind of know what was going on. I just hadn't figured it out yet.
George eyed me curiously before sighing and handing me a letter.
"It came in this mornings post. I have no idea what it is."
I flipped the letter so I saw the address.Lucy Joan Carlyle.
35 Portland Row.
London.I ripped open the envelope. Inside it read:
To my dear sister Lucy,
How ya doing sis? You left without even saying goodbye. Well, I did some research and found out where you were staying. Combe Carey? You're joking?!?!?
Anyway, Ali's getting married and she would sooooooo love it if you came. Pleeeease? Mum says you can bring a friend or two down with you. Please come. Lizzy's being annoying again and I can't stand it without you. Hope you can make the wedding. It's on the twenty-fifth of October.
LOADS OF LOVE,
Mary.I smiled as I finished the letter.
"Well?" George asked.
"George?" I said. "Do we have anything on for the week of the twenty-fifth?"Authors Note~
That one was kinda short. Plz comment if you like the chapters better this way. I know I usually end up doing like 800 words in my chapter.
